Wizard101 Adds Novus, a New World Inspired By Surrealist Art, and New Mechanics for Flexible Builds

Wizard101 has introduced a mysterious new world called Novus. The world is inspired by surrealist art, and is part of the big fall update for the long-running MMO.

Novus is the latest addition and arose, in lore, when shards appeared over the Spiral after the World Synthesizer in Lemuria was destroyed. The new shards form Novus itself and it is the next place to explore, uncover its mysteries, the politics of the people there, and more.

It raises the level cap to 160, and adds new quest content, new forms of magic, political complexities to learn and maybe even a threat to Novus itself by those who might corrupt the newly appeared world.

Wizard101 has a new stat called Archmastery, which lets you have some more flexibility in your build, instead of pushing you into more of a single-school leaning build (which the mechanics often incentivized). Archmastery will let you convert Power pips into School pips so you can vary your builds.

Also in the update are new Beastmoon forms, like Balance Minotaur, which is an effective support, Ice Draconian, for tanking, and Myth Colossus, which specializes in unique minion play. There will also be a new schedule of Beastmoon events.

Since it's a big seasonal update, there are new gear stats, a new pin system that will add to the secondary school endeavors and flexible builds,  and additional Castle items. Also new spells, including things that do practical stuff like setting the PVP turn order to alternating turns, stopping item from moving,  adding to Magic counters, stop players from playing as a pet, and more.

The team has also overhauled some aspects of the guild system, with a number of improvements to the social systems, including adding the ability to join via the social kiosk if a guild has been listed there by its leader.

For full details on Novus, new spells, and everything in the update, read the notes at Wizard101.
