Shared-World Survival Game Nightingale Gets Intel Partnership, and Will Be at The Game Awards

Upcoming shared-world survival game Nightingale will be showing off new gameplay and features at The Game Awards next week. Developer Inflexion today also announced a deal to partner with Intel, which will feature at the awards show presentation.

The partnership with Intel will eventually lead to the game being optimized for Intel Arc graphics and integrate Intel Xe Super Sampling Technology (XeSS), which works to improve the way a game looks. The two companies’ collaboration will also extend to a newly-announced contest,  “The Ultimate Realmwalker Survival Giveaway”, which will award Intel prize packages, with a grand prize reveal to coincide with The Game Awards.

We’re clearly heading into a big time for Nightingale. After the game was announced, things went understandably quiet for a time, but the team has begun to share some peeks inside the process, and both the Game Awards reveals and Intel partnership reflect their progress.

Inflexion also revealed this month in its first-ever development update video, that Nightingale  will get visual enhancements using Unreal Engine 5, including improved lighting and Global illumination using Lumen, which improves reflections and dynamic lighting.  This system is also behind lighting upgrades in a number of different games, such as Mortal Online 2.

Closed alpha has also just begun, in a limited playtest that will eventually expand. The first group of invited testers will help the team with feedback and data on (as yet unrevealed) specific gameplay. Such is the mystery of closed tests, of course. Those interested in testing the game during the development process can still apply. With these recent announcements, it should mean that more are coming, especially now that dev update videos have arrived, and playtesting is underway.

Nightingale, after a delay, is on track for an Early Access release on PC in the first half of next year. For more, read the announcement of the partnership over at Nightingale.
