Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has plenty of memorable and favored Pokemon that players have enjoyed catching and evolving to make their teams. However, it isn't only the powerful new creatures players have enjoyed while exploring the ninth generation of the Pokemon franchise.
Besides these creatures players have also gotten to meet and learn about a completely new set of characters from their own trusty rival to the Gym Bosses players will be expected to face if they hope to become a Champion. Although there are plenty of new faces, these are the NPCs players have most enjoyed meeting of their adventure.
10 Atticus
As the poison boss leader for Team Star, Atticus is more than just a man is a fabulously crafted Ninja outfit. Those that have explored the storyline will know how all the majority of bosses from Team Star were once students that had been bullied by other students in the academy and Atticus was one of these children.
This Shakespearean sounding student was not only bullied for the way he speaks but also his love of creating clothing. However, as a member of Team Star he is able to explore his passion to make his friends their boss outfits.
9 Larry
Fittingly the Normal type Gym Leader is by far one of the most average people in Scarlet and Violet. A theme is followed in this generation of Pokemon showing how Gym Leader business isn't the main purpose of these characters as they all have their own personal jobs and passions they follow.
As for Larry this means being the everyday businessman who isn't even the CEO of the company he works at. Besides that, Larry is genuinely one of the funniest characters in the game due to how monotone and serious he can be that continues throughout meeting him.
8 Mela
Hotheaded and stubborn, Mela is exactly what players expect of the Fire crew's leader as he will most likely be the first Team Star boss players will face while attempting to complete the game. Similar to Atticus, Mela was also bullied while visiting the academy which has caused her to take on this rather fierce personality.
Players mainly enjoy this character for her hilarious walk style due to the ginormous red flame boots she was gifted by Atticus. This poor Star Boss is forced to march straight legged in order to get around which man players may assume isn't the most comfortable way of walking.
7 Nurse Joy
Nurse Joy, or the relatives of her also makes their appearance once again to tend to the Pokemon of the player at any Pokemon Center they pass. Players can't deny how useful of a service she is in those situations where the player has met an intense battle that has wiped the majority of their team or put harsh effects on them.
Players continue to enjoy her appearance in the franchise. Especially with how she can assist beginner players on not only the controls of the game but also if they find themselves lost in Paldea she can point them in the right direction of where to go.
6 Jacq
While some players may not like school, they can't deny that some of the academy's teachers are not only memorable but also well liked due to their great personalities and hilarious moments. One such example of this is Jacq, the player's homeroom and Biology teacher.
Jacq is not only helpful to beginner players due to teaching them during classes about catching Pokemon and breeding them, but he is also the creator of the Pokedex that the player will hope to fill on their Rotom Phone.
5 Rika
While the Elite Four did not make an appearance in Pokemon Sword and Shield, it returned once more in the recent Pokemon title for players to face once they had completely demolished the other eight Gyms in battle.
Rika is the first member of the Elite Four players will face and is by far the most loved out of all of them. This Ground type trainer's androgynous look interested players when they first met her, but players have also enjoyed Rika's personality as she shows compassion for not only the player themselves but also the youngest member of the Elite Four, Poppy.
4 Saguaro
Continuing on with the most fashionable NPCs in the game, players will want to get to know Mr. Saguaro, their Home Economics teacher. Players will want to visit Saguaro's classes to learn more about making Sandwiches and the importance of using Berries but the most fun to be had is outside his lessons.
Saguaro is seen as one of the coolest Teachers in the academy, and therefore he feels he is supposed to keep up a certain reputation. However, Saguaro is hardly the man the students believe him to be, and it's up to the player to help their teacher truly become himself.
3 Miriam
Students aren't only inspired by their teachers, but also the other way round when meeting the school's nurse, Miriam. As the player completes gyms and returns to Miriam, she will tell them how they have inspired her to try again to become a teacher at the school after failings its exam countless times.
Eventually once the player has defeated all the gyms and returned to Miriam she will reveal that she has finally passed. It's all thanks to the player for inspiring her to try again due to how hard they had worked towards their goal also.
2 Nemona
As with every title in the Pokemon franchise, the player must have a Rival that challenges them to become the very best in the region. For Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, this title is handed to the battle-loving School President Nemona, who takes it upon herself to be the player's first friend.
Although some players believe her love of Pokemon battles as well as consistent following of the player can be a little excessive the vast majority of those enjoying the title see Nemona as a great rival.
1 Arven
By far one of the best NPCs that players meet as well as fight alongside in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is the upperclassman Arven. Although he may come off as rather mean at times referring to others as pipsqueak or his at first despise of Nemona, there is a deeper story to him.
While players help Arven in his quest to collect the Herba Mystica by defeating the titans, they will begin to learn more about this student. Some may even go as far as getting emotional during his quest for the reason he is collecting them.
