An Among Us VR clip featuring a Twitch streamer running after and terrifying one of their crewmates across the map is going viral. Although the new virtual reality version of the immensely popular social deduction game has only been out for a couple of days now, Among Us VR is already making humorously viral moments on par with the original version.

Almost single-handedly popularizing the social deduction video game genre, InnerSloth's Among Us has been an immensely successful and widely-played title, curiously taking the streaming world (and gaming in general) by storm in 2020 despite initially releasing in 2018. After announcing the game would be coming to virtual reality systems in late 2022, Among Us VR officially launched on November 10, bringing with it some twists to the title's classic experience.

The viral Among Us VR Twitch clip comes from a streamer named reggiewebberr, who has posted the video to the popular subreddit r/LivestreamFail. The clip begins with the streamer facing one of their crewmates, who accuses the streamer of being the Imposter. After responding "correct" the streamer chases after their accuser, screaming and making monster-like growls. The crewmate, who sounds much younger than the Imposter/streamer, begins screaming in fear running through the 3D version of The Skeld. Another player calls an emergency meeting before a kill can be made, resulting in the streamer cracking up with laughter.

The clip is an excellent showcase of the game's proximity chat, one of several new features shown in an Among Us VR gameplay trailer released earlier this year. The latest Among Us iteration's new chat ability is something that's long been requested by players of the original and appears to be in good working order. Other features exclusive to Among Us VR include the obvious shift to a first-person perspective, as well as the ability to make hand gestures, perfect for Imposter-pointing. Crewmate activities are also much more engaging, taking full advantage of the VR systems' capabilities.

While most attention is currently on the new Among Us VR, InnerSloth has been sure to keep the original updated. The original Among Us Halloween update gave MIRA HQ and The Skeld a spooky makeover, while also updating the Chewie pet to match a player's selected color. The update also allows Among Us VR players to claim a free VR Visor cosmetic from November 1 – 30, meaning players who are interested will want to claim the free item sooner than later.

Among Us VR is available for Meta Quest 2, PS VR, and SteamVR.
