Steelrising's first DLC is now available; it's called Cagliostro's Secrets, and it introduces a swathe of content, expanding the base game with new side quests, weapons, and enemies and adding an entirely new location, the Hôpital Saint Louis.
To start this new quest, budding revolutionaries must have visited the Bastille and defeated the Titan guarding it, which is quite late in the game. From there, a conspiracy involving the Comte de Cagliostro will unfurl, leading Aegis to the Hôpital Saint Louis, a decommissioned hospital with a dark secret concerning the alchemy that powers the Kings' automats.
We thought Steelrising was a solid take on the FromSoftware formula, held back by some technical issues at launch, which hopefully have been smoothed over since via patches. Cagliostro's Secrets seems like the perfect excuse to once more take to the mean, machine-filled streets of revolutionary Paris.
What did you think of Steelrising? Will you be diving back in for Cagliostro's Secret? Tear it all down in the comments section below.

I’m really looking forward to playing this game but I’m also waiting for it to go on sale. Once it does I’ll likely pick up this DLC too.
@DETfaninATL just about post something very similar actually. I know that I’ll love it but it’s not as if I still haven’t got The Surge 2. Nioh 2 and Mortal Shell still to play, so I’m in no rush to pick this up. I’ll just wait until I see it for £20.
This is one of the best soulslike games i ever played. The team did an exceptional job though i have a busy backlog atm so it will have to wait prob until next year...
@Arisen I agree, imo it is even the best by a very wide margin.
I really, really enjoyed what I played of this but they still have not even attempted to fix the performance in the "graphic" mode - awful stability and drops frames down to single digits in combat and often in explorination, rendering it completely unplayable! It's the worst performance in any game available on PS5 by a large margin.
Spiders have never been known for technical prowess (although Greedfall looked great!), and I understand the other modes might be serviceable for others but honestly, they look like absolute soup of poop to me - Extreme amounts of pop-in, 0 anisotropic filtering, muddy textures and low frame updates of enemies that aren't even that from the camera. Also, the "frame rate" mode is apparently using vaseline as AA 😂. The "graphic" mode is the only one where things are boosted above this baseline.
I've heard performance is a big issue on PC as well. Even the 30X0 series having issues with massive dips and stuttering. The developers have been made aware of these performance issues across all platforms by countless people on Twitter, Reddit etc. and have ignored every mention of it, with no info in any patch notes of it being a focus of future updates. It would be nice to hear that they at least understand that it's an issue.
Surprisingly, the performance for this mode on PS5 was completely fine in the beta 🤔 so I have no idea what went wrong in the final build.
Yes, I'm grumpy! This game is fantastic otherwise! 😞 This really should have been picked up on in reviews but obviously reviewers didn't bother using all of the modes past the first minute of the opening level.
@colonelkilgore @DETfaninATL Same plan here, will wait until the complete edition with all DLC included is on sale for $25 New or cheaper.
Yes that will take a few years, but I'm very patient and have a huge gaming backlog in the hundreds to work thru.
@KidBoruto Yep - I'm building up a sizeable backlog myself. And with all the good games coming out in the next few months Callisto Protocol, God Of war, Dead Space, etc.), it won't be a problem waiting for a sale on games like this or Evil West.
@DETfaninATL I was considering buying Evil West or Sonic Frontiers at full price, but may just hold off and save my money for Callisto and Crisis Core FF7 in December.
Also need to pick up Plague Tale Requiem, Gotham Knights, Star Ocean: The Divine Force, etc eventually.
