Bungie has revealed a long list of tweaks to be made to Destiny 2 with the release of Season 19 early next month, as well as some new content which includes a whole new dungeon for high-level PvE players to enjoy. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the reveal of more endgame content, with many players having already obtained the Discerptor title from Destiny 2's most recent dungeon, Duality, which released with Season 17 back in May.

Destiny 2's current Season of Plunder brought a lot to the table with its initial release, including 2 new seasonal PvE activities, 3 Fortnite-inspired armor sets, and even the return of Destiny's King's Fall raid, to name just a few of the biggest features. In spite of these additions, Destiny 2 has struggled to keep many players consistently engaged with Season 18's content, and quite a few players have temporarily moved away to other games as a result. With a new season on the horizon and the next expansion, Destiny 2: Lightfall shortly afterward, it won't be long before player counts start rising again.

The latest This Week At Bungie blog post covers a lot of ground in terms of upcoming buffs and nerfs to come to with Season 19, recent Destiny 2 community events, and a cheeky hint towards an upcoming dungeon. While the development team has revealed little about the upcoming activity thus far, they have confirmed that it will arrive somewhere in the solar system on December 9 at 9 AM PDT for Guardians to take on. The team claims that they intend to keep details on the down-low so that the day-one experience remains "new and exciting" for all players when it releases next month.

The Destiny 2 community is alight with speculation as to where the dungeon might be taking place and which enemy race Guardians will be going up against this time, but it is known that recent dungeons have had plenty of Hive, Fallen, and Cabal in them. Meanwhile, the Vex haven't been seen in an endgame activity of their own for quite a while, so some players are hoping that Season 19 puts the spotlight back on them.

Other players contest that this is unlikely to be the case, unfortunately, since Lightfall seems to be centered around the Witness and Calus' Shadow Legion of Cabal. With Season 19 being the final season of the year before the next expansion's launch in February 2023, many in the community are expecting a tense buildup to the events of Lightfall and the discovery of the futuristic cityscape, Neomuna. With just over a month left before the launch of Season 19, Guardians won't have to wait long to get their boots into the halls of a whole new dungeon.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
