Marvel's Avengers is giving away three MCU skins free for a limited time. These nostalgic MCU suits recall back to simpler times, which may be reason alone for fans to jump back into Marvel's Avengers.

Marvel’s Avengers is no stranger to switching up the outfit of its characters while utilizing the comics, which in some cases can date as far back to 1960, such as the retro Hawkeye suit that is now available. Between the comics and the MCU, Marvel’s Avengers has shown that it is taking advantage of its source material when it comes to DLC, with the new skins being no exception.

As part of last month’s promotion by Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics for the game's second anniversary, three classic MCU suits were made available for free. These suits are of Thor from the character's first movie, Captain America from the first Avengers movie, and the Iron Man suit from Iron Man 2. This promotion looks to have been made available again up until October 8, and can be freely accessed just by logging into the game. The Marvel’s Avengers Twitter account posted a video that showcases the MCU-inspired suits in action. These classic Phase 1 Marvel suits are perfect for players who want to be reminded of when the characters teamed up for the first time, and thanks to the free DLC, they can now simulate that experience in the game.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of superhero games are the costumes that developers implement not only from the source material, but also from original designs specific to those games. These cosmetic options are more than just a new look for fans, as they can transport players to the version of the character from a specific storyline, which may impact how those players traverse through the game. The upcoming Gotham Knights cosmetic options are no exception from an aesthetic standpoint, but also made practically through its RPG elements. However, in the case of Marvel’s Avengers, players do not have to worry about how a cosmetic will affect their gameplay, as they can enjoy the suit for what it is while engaging with the game in whatever way they see fit.

Players that missed out on the original promotion now have an extra two days to grab these suits for free, but players who already have them should not worry, as more superhero suit content is expected in the future. A recent leak suggests that there may be cel-shaded costumes coming to Marvel’s Avengers in the future.

Marvel’s Avengers is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
