Warzone Season 5 and Call of Duty Vanguard are both getting a mid-season update today (September 28) – both are now LIVE.

This is the last Warzone update before Warzone 2.0 launches – and for Vanguard, a final send off for a game that unfortunately did not live up to expectations.

It’ll be replaced by Modern Warfare 2, a game that’s just finished its inaugural beta weekend – and it went down a storm with fans. Here’s everything you need to know – with full details available on the official Call of Duty website.

Warzone Season 5 Reloaded update date

The Warzone x Vanguard Season 5 Reloaded update brings the following updates to the games:

  • New Operators: Gabriel Rorke, the villain from Call of Duty Ghosts, and Seraph from the Black Ops games
  • New MP map: Fortress
  • New Rebirth Resurgence Supreme mode
  • New Weapons: Lienna 57 LMG and BP50 Assault Rifle

Vanguard Season 5 Reloaded update release time

The Reloaded update for Vanguard is available now (September 28) and launched at 9 AM PT / 17:00 BST. The PC version will likely arrive later as according to Sledgehammer Games, there is a ‘crashing issue’ that needs to be investigated.

The big new addition is the Fortress map. It’s located in a post-apocalyptic Mediterranean setting with cobbled old ship parts and crumbling walls.

“The maritime graveyard sits where water once flowed freely, with Operators battling for possession of the few remaining strongholds,” writes the devs.

  • NEW: Fortress (In-Season)
    • Battle in a desert graveyard featuring the remains of old ships; Fortress is a medium-sized map with a loose three-lane structure.

    • Reduced Hardpoint boundaries near the Record Shop to prevent unintended capture points.
    • Addressed an exploit that allowed players to reach an unintended location near the Clothing Store.

  • Addressed an issue that prevented players from accessing the Customization menu.

Bundles & Cosmetics

  • Corrected multiple animations while using the Down to the Wire Operator Skin for Beatrice.
  • Addressed an issue that caused the T-1000 Operator Skin to not reflect properly in the lobby walk sequence.
  • Optic Attachments will no longer appear smaller than intended on the Armored Strength Blueprint for the Cooper Carbine.

ZOMBIES

Maps

  • “The Archon” 
    • Addressed an issue where players would rarely fall through the map when sprinting into a door and purchasing it simultaneously.
    • Addressed various visual discrepancies on the map, such as missing textures, missing geography, or rare instances where a Zombie may appear to clip into a rock while climbing over it.
    • Addressed a rare issue where a Boom-Schreier could spawn in a locked portion of the map and be unable to navigate to the player.
    • Addressed a rare issue where a Zombie could spawn outside the map shortly after unlocking the Pack-a-Punch machine.
    • Zombies spawning during Exfil will now have their proper portal effect upon spawn.
    • The Decimator Shield will now play “pick-up” dialogue when acquired by a player.
    • You take me into battle? Our tales shall be GLORIOUS!
    • Players that join during round 1 will no longer trigger the opening conversation to play again.
    • Kortifex will now display “immune” when appropriate.
    • Kortifex’s lightning ball attack will now ignore downed players.

    • Addressed a rare issue where players could sometimes take damage when navigating to Dig Site from the Altar of Covenants.

Warzone Season 5 Reloaded update release time

As per Vanguard, Warzone Season 5 Reloaded is also live now. It is the last update for Warzone 1.0 before Warzone 2.0 launches.

General: QoL Updates

  • “Recommended” Weapons 
    • Increased the number of Players that will see “Recommended” Weapons appear in the Gunsmith.
    • Weapons from Modern Warfare 2019 and Black Ops: Cold War will also show as “Recommended” if they are meta relevant.
  • Golden Keycard Bunkers
    • Golden Keycard Bunkers will now have a Yellow Circle highlighted on the Tac Map.

  • Manual Gas Mask
    • Improved Manual Gas Mask text in the settings menu to better detail how Players manually equip the Gas Mask.
    • Moved the Gas Mask to be the first entry in the Quick Inventory for easier manual equipping.
  • Supply Box UAVs
    • Supply Box UAVs will no longer show red Rebirth Supply Boxes.

As a celebration of the breadth of Weapons we have to offer, we’re taking the opportunity with Season Five Mid-Season update to really highlight all that’s been added these last few years. You’ll find a whole new Ground Loot and Gulag loadout experience along with some targeted hits to the most performant builds in the game, along with one last round of adjustments for the most underused Weapons. 

General

    • Leaning into the history of Warzone , you’ll find some of the greatest hits from Modern Warfare, Black Ops and Vanguard in Ground Loot. We have significantly increased the variance on offer from what was previously on offer in order to make the early game feel more dynamic each drop.

    • This fully automatic bullpup assault rifle boasts a high fire rate while remaining deadly and accurate at long range.
  • Lienna 57: Light Machine Gun (VG)

  • Fixed additional collision issues with various elements across Caldera/Fortune’s Keep allowing Players to exploit/peek/shoot through them.
  • Fixed an issue with the UGM-8 (VG) causing the MK 3. Reflector Optic to be locked after the level requirement has been reached.
  • Fixed an issue with the UGM-8 (VG) Bipod attachment causing bullet impact effects and tracers to not display.
  • Fixed an issue where certain Grav (BOCW) blueprint statistics were not matching the base Weapon. 
  • Fixed an issue where using the Whitley (VG) with Slight of hand caused an unintended delay in the ammo being credited to the Weapon. 
  • Fixed an issue with the EX1 (VG) causing the Zombies Camos tab to not appear.
  • Fixed an issue with the Push Dagger (VG) causing the Zombies Camos tab to not appear.
  • Fixed an issue causing Camo Challenges on some Weapons to not track.

What time is the next Warzone update?

We expect to see The Last Stand Warzone Season 5 Reloaded update drop at around 9 AM PT /5 PM BST on September 28. However, it may well arrive a day later on September 29.

Will Verdansk come back?

Yes, Verdansk is coming back in some iteration for the upcoming Warzone Mobile. Details are light on the ground, but we’re expecting to hear more before the end of the year. Warzone 2.0’s new map, Al Mazrah, will replace Caldera.
