FIFA 23 Early Access is finally here, which gives gamers who have pre-ordered the game, or who have EA Play, a few days of playing time before the wider release on September 30.

We are already looking forward to the first FIFA 23 promo, which is looking set to be FIFA 23 Ones to Watch.

Here’s how to play FIFA 23 early – which can be done two ways – either via pre-ordering the Ultimate Edition of the game or by joining EA Play.

The standard game is set to launch on September 30 – and you can find out the FIFA 23 release time right here.

FIFA 23 Early Access Release time

FIFA 23 early access kicked off on September 27 for those who pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition of the game.

EA Play members are currently also able to enjoy a 10-hour free trial before the game launches on Friday September 30.

How to access FIFA 23 EA Play Early Access?

Here are the steps to get onto EA Play’s early access for FIFA 23 on PlayStation 5:

  • Head over to the PlayStation Store
  • In the search bar “EA Play”
  • You should be able to see the EA Play, directing you to the main hub.
  • From there, you should be able to download FIFA 23 via early access.

Early Access method 1: Pre-ordering the Ultimate Edition of the game

For most gamers, the easiest way to get your hands on FIFA 23 early was to pre-order the FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition. However, that is now out. With Early Access window now near enough closed, there are still plenty of great rewards that come with the Ultimate Edition.

Early Access method 2: Join EA Play

Another way of getting to play the game early is by becoming a member of EA Play, which will give you 10 hours of gameplay to trial the game from September 27.

Right now, there is a deal on for Xbox fans, where you can get a month’s trial of EA Play for just 0.79p. It’s usually £3.99, and with this you’ll be able to get 10 hours of FIFA 23 gameplay as part of the trial.

There are two tiers to EA Play – Play and Play Pro.

EA Play costs $4.99 a month and gives you access to a select number of top titles, rewards, member-only content, and unlimited access. Play Pro come sin at $14.99 per month, and gives you unlimited access to the entire EA game portfolio in the service.

When it comes to FIFA 23, EA Play Pro gives you a few more rewards.

As well as Early Access, these are:

Personally, looking at the above I think EA Play Pro makes a lot of sense for those looking to get the FIFA 23 with a view of focusing on Ultimate Team. It’ll give you discounts throughout, plus with Christmas coming up, you’ll get access to a ton of other games, too.

The Standard Edition of the game is the cheapest option short term, and may make most sense for people who do not spend a lot of money on Ultimate Team. If you do decide to focus on Ultimate Team, then there’s the option of joining EA Play later on.
