Ubisoft has confirmed that the latest patch for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will begin rolling out to players shortly. Since the game’s release in 2020, Valhalla has seen constant improvements and tweaks from the developers, along with support for large-scale DLC, such as Dawn of Ragnarok.The latest patch is being deployed to all systems on September 27 and will see a host of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements. One such fix pertains to the latest expansion released earlier in the year, as players reported crashes after installing Valhalla’s Dawn of Ragnarok DLC. Not only will gamers see several fixes to the open-world RPG, but a few pieces of free content will also be included in the update.As teased by the official Assassin's Creed Twitter account, when patch 1.6.1 has been installed, players will be able to expand on their Assassin’s Creed Valhalla experience as an expansion to the Ravensthorpe settlement will be available. The Rune Forge can be built once the town has been upgraded to level 4 and will allow Eivor to turn the perks attached to their gear into valuable runes. This will cost silver to carry out but will give players more ways to find future buffs to equipment and weapons.
Along with the new settlement upgrades, the Tombs of the Fallen DLC will also come to a conclusion. The first wave was released in November last year, adding three caves to Valhalla allowing players to unleash their inner Viking version of Indiana Jones. When the 1.6.1 patch is installed, folks will have access to three more mysterious tombs full of traps and puzzles as they attempt to uncover the secrets of a lost civilization.
Ubisoft also confirmed that the veil of Oskoreia, the popular in-game event that is also known as the Wild Hunt Festival, will return to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla for the final time. Players must defend their settlement from the threat of harmful spirits in the hopes of unlocking new items. Much like the Tombs of the Fallen, this will be available to all players at no extra cost when it becomes available from October 20 to November 10.
It is expected that patch 1.6.1 will be the last big update for Valhalla as Ubisoft is turning its attention to the next entry in the long-running series. The recently unveiled Assassin’s Creed Mirage is scheduled to release next year and will feature a return to the game’s Middle Eastern roots along with the removal of modern-day gameplay sections.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
