However, don’t get too comfortable. Time is running out to get in the last few hours of practice and level up your weapons. The beta will now end at 8pm BST.

Be sure to check out our Modern Warfare 2 weapons tier list, as well as custom loadout guides for our favorite weapons, including the M4 and Hurricane SMG. These will certainly help give you the edge and level up faster if you’ve only just managed to jump on.

What time does the MW2 open beta end?

The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 beta originally ended for everyone at 6pm UK time (10am PT / 13:00 ET) on Monday, September 26. However this has now been extended by two hours.

Don’t fret, though. All of your progress will be carried over to the full game once it launches on October 28. As a reminder, here’s what rewards are on offer:

To summarise, these are the rewards that will be accessible per level:

  • Level 2: Animated Emblem “Smashed It”
  • Level 4: “Buckle Up” Charm
  • Level 6: Animated Player Card “Passed The Test”
  • Level 10: Sticker “Operation First Blood”
  • Level 15: Weapon Blueprint “Side Impact”
  • Level 18: Operation Skin – “Collision”
  • Level 19: Vinyl Unlock “No Competition”
  • Level 21: Sticker “Safety First”
  • Level 26: Vehicle Skin “Floor It”
  • Level 30: Weapon Blueprint “Frontal Impact”

There is no word yet if there will be another Modern Warfare 2 beta, although we think that it’s going to be highly unlikely. We’ll likely have to wait until the full game launches on October 28.

Tips to level up fast in the MW2 beta

As time is running out, you’ll need to grind hard to reach level 30. With a few solid hours of gametime, and a few good performances, it is certainly doable.

Our recommendation would be to use the Default M4 class to get you through as many levels as possible. It’s well balanced and the recoil is easy to get used to.

The Hurricane SMG is good for more confirmed maps like Museum, but it’ll limit you to close quarters combat, so opting for the M4 will open up your kill potential.
