September is officially here, and any fan keeping up with the major events in the coming weeks has a calendar full of things to keep up with. Officially speaking, Cyberpunk 2077 is hosting a Night City Wire soon, The Disney and Marvel Games Showcase takes place on September 9, and the Ubisoft Forward happening the day after on September 10. Then, there are the PS Showcase and Nintendo Direct rumors to consider, both of which seem likely as they have happened for multiple Septembers in a row, and there's still more on top of those.

In terms of the Nintendo Direct, recent rumors suggest that it will take place during the week of September 12, and it'll apparently be a 'Zelda Blowout.' The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are said to be getting Switch ports, but beyond those, two more highly beloved (but third-party) games have had Switch ports leak online. It's not hard to connect the dots and think all of these ports will be announced at the upcoming Direct, and if so, it seems many fans will be happy.

Recently, Skyrim: Anniversary Edition was rated for the Nintendo Switch, the one platform that this edition did not release on. Skyrim is already available on the Switch, but this version isn't and includes the DLC and new content from the Creation Club. Of course, there are plenty of jokes to be had about every version of Skyrim and how many times it has been ported, but given that it has been rated but there hasn't been an official announcement, this does lend some more credence to the Direct rumors.

The second title may not be as universal, but it is loved all the same: It Takes Two. This title received rave reviews, has been a commercial success, and has numerous awards to its name, like Game of the Year from The Game Awards 2021. This leak comes way of Snitch, who has gotten plenty of things right in the past, including the eventual day one addition of Hollow Knight: Silksong on Game Pass. There's little reason to doubt them, meaning this co-op game about divorcees mending their relationship is likely to arrive on Switch relatively soon.

Ultimately, how one feels about these two specific ports seems irrelevant to the bigger picture: these leaks, in conjunction with the Zelda port rumors and pattern of September reveals, make the Nintendo Direct happening this month even more likely. It wouldn't be surprising to see this event be announced in the coming weeks and these games get properly announced there.

A Nintendo Direct is rumored to take place in September.
