Developed by Swedish studio Experiment 101, Biomutant received a somewhat mixed reception when it launched back in 2021. While the game at first appeared incredibly interesting, allowing the player to make their own strange mutant creature in a world devoid of humanity, Biomutant wound up a disappointment for some due to it not living up to its big ambitions. However, some are still fond of Biomutant's unique worldbuilding and narrative, and it has managed to make a decent amount of money for both Experiment 101 and its publisher THQ Nordic.

In fact, Biomutant did so well financially that it made back its costs within the first week following launch. The financial success of Biomutant has been enough to inspire Experiment 101 to release some more versions of the game on new platforms. Already, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Biomutant have been revealed online, and now it seems that the game could also be coming to Nintendo Switch, as Nintendo Life has spotted a gaming retailer with the title listed for the hybrid console along with a release date of October 25, 2022.

While the appearance of a Switch port of Biomutant alongside a potential release date doesn't exactly confirm that the game is coming to the hybrid console, there is also placeholder box art for Biomutant on the new platform, implying that it is a possibility. This isn't the first time that Biomutant has been associated with the Nintendo Switch. Back in 2019, it was mentioned with Darksiders 2 as coming to the Switch as well.

However, this is the closest fans have gotten to a Biomutant release on Switch. The October launch date would mark over a month after Biomutant becomes available on next-gen consoles, with those versions of the game launching on September 6. It is possible that with this leak from Gaming Replay, an official announcement from Experiment 101 or THQ Nordic could follow. If the pattern created by the reveal of the next-gen versions of Biomutant is followed, a proper announcement could come shortly after the leak.

If Biomutant were to release on the Nintendo Switch, it wouldn't be the only THQ Nordic game coming to the console in the next few months. According to another leak via a video game retailer, pro-wrestling promotion AEW's Fight Forever may be coming to Nintendo's hybrid console after all, following months of confusion over which platforms the upcoming wrestling game would be available on.

Biomutant is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game will launch on September 6, 2022.
