The Under The Arkesian Sun update for Lost Ark has brought the recently announced Pet Ranch feature into players' strongholds, introducing a host of new mechanics related to players' pet collections. The update is also bringing back Event Raids to mix up Lost Ark's PvE content along with an assortment of futuristic cosmetics and mounts.

Lost Ark is Amazon Games' second foray into the MMO market following the rocky release of New World late last year. Lost Ark has actually been operating in South Korea since 2019, with Amazon Games heading up the more recently released western edition of the game. Lost Ark combines the visceral and addicting isometric combat and loot collecting of action-RPGs like Diablo with the large-scale world design and social aspects of traditional MMORPGs such as World of Warcraft. As a free-to-play MMORPG, it's very important for Lost Ark to consistently update the game with new content and improvements in order to keep its massive player base entertained.

The latest update for Lost Ark is entitled Under The Arkesian Sun, a title that emphasizes the summer fun theme of the seasonal Maharaka Festival where players partake in leisurely activities at the Maharaka Paradise water park. The main attraction of this update is the new Pet Ranch located within player strongholds. The Pet Ranch allows players' pets to train and grow in strength while generating resources and gaining Pet Expertise to level up, along with producing Jam Cookies exchangeable for unique rewards. Pets consume morale when they are productive, and regenerate morale by resting and hanging out with the other pets.

The update also features new Event Guardians as an interesting variation of Lost Ark's Guardian Raids. Players who are level 50 or above with an item level of at least 250 can challenge groups of three Event Guardians which drop stacking buffs that massively increase player damage dealt. Once all three Guardians are defeated, players will receive tokens that can be redeemed at an event vendor for a variety of rewards. On the cosmetic front, futuristic new Wingsuit Armor and Neon Weapon skins are available for a limited time, along with a sleek-looking WIngsuit Bike and an assortment of adorable Shiba Inu pets.

The Maharaka Festival runs until September 28, so players still have plenty of time to join in on the summer festivities. It's also important to note that players will only be able to acquire the new collection of Shiba Inu pets and the Wingsuit cosmetics set until September 28. Lost Ark players may want to keep that date in mind as the next round of seasonal offerings approaches for fall.
