Madden 23 is set to release soon, and with that came the reveal of the player ratings in the game. Fans love to debate all the mistakes Madden 23 has when rating players and ranking them at each position. Rookies are put in an interesting place where many of them are given lower overalls simply because they haven't played in the NFL yet.

Though it's not as often as the Madden community would like, Madden 23 will update rosters throughout the season, and many of the rookies from the 2022 NFL Draft likely won't have the same overall rating they started the year with.

8 Kyle Hamilton (S, Baltimore Ravens)

Madden 23 Ratings Rookies Kyle Hamilton

Every year it seems that the Baltimore Ravens end up having a solid draft and acquire tons of talent, and it's a large reason they've seen continued success. Once again, the 2022 NFL Draft saw talent fall to them as the Ravens landed a generational athlete at the safety position in Notre Dame's Kyle Hamilton.

As a team, they tend to run a creative defense that utilizes talent in interesting ways, and Hamilton might be in the running for Defensive Rookie of the Year by season's end. Whether or not he accomplishes that feat, it's hard to see a world in which he remains a 76 overall in Madden 23.

7 Aidan Hutchinson (EDGE, Detroit Lions)

Aidan Hutchinson isn't the type of athlete who is going to wow with burst or bend, but he manages to get the job done and makes a difference on the edge. Analysts consider him to be a bit stiff, but even his toughest critics understood that, at the very least, he'll be a stout run defender in the NFL.

In Madden 23, Hutchinson currently sits at a 77 overall and could quickly establish himself as the best defender on the Detroit Lions roster. His speed and agility ratings are both at an 81, which seems to be a place where a harsh ruling can be corrected when his in-game speed is seen at the next level.

6 Sauce Gardner (CB, New York Jets)

Sauce Gardner was a true lockdown corner in college at the University of Cincinnati, and he's hoping to do the same in the NFL. The New York Jets selected Gardner early in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft in hopes of fixing a constantly troubled secondary.

As a rookie, Gardner has a staggering 78 overall in Madden 23 without playing a single snap in the NFL. It's hard to see it getting much higher, but it's also hard to imagine that he doesn't provide an immediate impact and elevates the play of a unit on the Jets' defense that has cost them the potential to win many more games than they have.

5 Kayvon Thibodeaux (EDGE, New York Giants)

Scheme and coaching often play a large role in the success of college athletes who are considered raw or labeled as projects. Kayvon Thibodeaux out of Oregon is a pass-rusher with all the natural measurements and intangibles NFL teams look for on the edge. He was drafted by the New York Giants, a staff that now includes former Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Wink Martindale.

If anyone could quickly raise Thibadeaux's 75 overall in Madden 23, it'd be a coach with a track record of getting the most out of young talented pass rushers.

4 Kyler Gordon (CB, Chicago Bears)

Madden 23 Ratings Rookies Kyler Gordon

Kyler Gordon, out of Washington University, was considering one of the more athletic and fluid cornerbacks in the 2022 NFL Draft. His footwork and hip movement are at an elite level, and he attributes that to a background in dance, a hobby he competed in growing up. The Chicago Bears are a rebuilding team that's looking to get their youth as much experience as possible and are instilling a work-hard mentality.

Whether he's playing in the slot or on the perimeter, Gordon will have plenty of chances to elevate his current Madden 23 rating of 71.

3 Breece Hall (RB, New York Jets)

Madden 23 Ratings Rookies Breece Hall

Now, Breece Hall having a 76 overall as a rookie running back is nothing to scoff at, especially when considering the type of system he'll be a part of in New York as a Jet. Most of his ratings are pretty fair, considering he's barely entering the league, but his stiff arm and spin moves can see a bump.

Hall will likely have solid numbers on the ground, but versatility is king for running backs in the modern era of the NFL. It'll come down to whether or not he can be a factor on third down in the passing game and mold himself into a reliable check-down target for second-year quarterback Zach Wilson.

2 Arnold Ebiketie (EDGE, Atlanta Falcons)

Madden 23 Ratings Rookies Arnold Ebiketie

Arnold Ebiketie isn't the flashiest pass rusher that came out of the 2022 NFL Draft, as much larger names were taken ahead of him. He fell into the lap of the Atlanta Falcons, a team with a desperate need for pass rushers of any sort.

Ebiketie may not end the year as the most productive rookie pass rusher, but if he stays healthy, he'll likely improve on his 72 overall. Both his block shedding and awareness are below 70, which are numbers that can easily be raised once he has enough proven film in the NFL.

1 Jaquan Brisker (S, Chicago Bears)

Madden 23 Ratings Rookies Jaquan Brisker

Considered by many draft analysts to be a steal of the 2022 NFL Draft, safety Jaquan Brisker from Penn State is set to make his mark in the NFL. As a member of the Chicago Bears, reports indicate that the rookie has continuously made plays in training camp, snagging turnovers all over the field. His current rating in Madden 23 is a 73 overall, and looking at the individual numbers it's safe to say his rating of 67 awareness and 68 catching will likely climb up if he continues to flash the way he has in Chicago Bears training camp.

Madden 23 is set to release August 15, 2022, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
