Guilty Gear Strive has been a pleasantly unexpected hit for Arc System Works ever since it launched last year, with much of the praise being directed to its eclectic cast of characters, unique playstyles across its roster, and diverse set of character songs for its soundtrack. So much so that it's one of the series' best-selling entries, with the fighting game developer continuing to support it after launch. The first season pass of content added several fan favorites to the roster, including newcomer Goldlewis Dickinson, along with a handful of returning veterans such as the busty samurai Baiken and elegant Grim Reaper Testament.

Shortly after Testament was revealed, Arc System Works announced that Guilty Gear Strive would be getting a second season pass, among other additions to the game. It wasn't until the premiere fighting game tournament EVO that the developer dropped a bunch of news. One of these is a rough roadmap for Strive's content throughout 2022-2023, which includes the dates for the crossplay beta test, along with tentative release windows for the characters of the second season pass. While the first character was slated to be released this summer, it was quickly revealed to be Guilty Gear veteran Bridget.

Bridget was introduced in Guilty Gear XX, the third installment in the franchise, and was a hotly requested DLC character for Guilty Gear Strive. Her announcement at EVO 2022 was met warmly by fans, with many overjoyed to see the yo-yo-wielding enthusiast be a part of the series again after skipping Xrd. In addition, players didn't need to wait long for her to join the roster, as Bridget is available now to try.

In Bridget's release trailer, she's billed to be an easy-to-use character in Strive, with her yo-yos being her primary weapon. She's a balanced yet speedy character, with her yo-yos acting as a projectile, but will also return to her hand after a certain amount of time. Bridget can also propel herself forward towards a launched yo-yo using her rolling movement, which can also be canceled into other actions. Bridget can also summon a mechanical bear weapon named Roger to attack an enemy in a variety of ways as well.

With Bridget's addition, only three characters have yet to be unveiled for the pass. Earlier this year, a data mine of Guilty Gear Strive revealed possible DLC characters who could fill those slots, which included names such as Sin Kiske, Slayer, and Jam Kuradoberi. Sin Kiske has a very likely shot of being the next DLC character, considering his appearance in the Another Story Expansion, but this is speculation for now.

Guilty Gear Strive is available on PC, PS4, and PS5.
