Ubisoft has announced that Far Cry 6 will get a free weekend, allowing anyone to pick up and play the latest entry in the series at no cost.

The promotion runs from now until August 7, and is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Google Stadia. PC gamers can also get in on the free action via the Epic Game Store and Ubisoft Store.

Players will get to keep any progress they make on the free weekend, providing they buy the game after. To sweeten the deal, there’s discounts on most stores for the game and on its DLCs too.

On the PC Ubisoft Store, there’s 60% off all editions of the game, and 50% off the Season Pass and the three individual DLCs. Players will also pick up a bonus £5 credit in their Ubisoft store account to spend on anything else.

The same offer, without the credit, is available on the Epic Game Store until August 8. Xbox owners can get their discount until August 15, while PlayStation owners have until August 17 to get 55% off the Deluxe and 60% off the Ultimate editions of the game.

Furthermore, Ubisoft has also announced a Photo Mode contest to mark the Far Cry 6 free weekend. Between now and August 12, anyone who posts a photo from the game with the hashtag #FarCry6FreeWeekendContest can win prizes including AMD graphics cards and more. Full details are over on the Far Cry website.
