Since the Nintendo Switch was first introduced to gamers back in 2017, fans have believed that the Joy-Con controllers for the hybrid console would make for a perfect revival of the Wii Sports series. Now, over fifteen years after Wii Sports initially launched, Nintendo Switch Sports has again given fans the ability to play sports such as tennis, volleyball, and bowling without ever having to leave the comfort of their home or even spend the money on sports equipment. Building on the premise set by Wii Sports by adding things like online ranked mode, Nintendo Switch Sports has seen success with Switch owners. It seems there is plenty still to come from the sports game as well, as shown by Nintendo's latest update for the game. The Summer update for Nintendo Switch Sports was first revealed last week, showing players what they would get on July 26. Now, the patch is live and Nintendo has provided a full run-down of what was added in the latest changes to Nintendo Switch Sports. The first thing on the sizable list of patch notes is full leg strap support for the soccer game mode, meaning players will be able to use the accessory in both Four-on-Four and One-on-One matchmaking.RELATED: Nintendo Switch Sports Players Discover Easter Egg in the CreditsThere are also new moves for volleyball in Nintendo Switch Sports, allowing for more options in the game mode than just having players bump, set, and spike. In addition to the gameplay changes made to soccer and volleyball, bowling also received an update which adjusts how the pins fall. A player will now have more of a challenge knocking pins over with a straight roll compared to when they bowl with a curve. Essentially, this discourages a player just lobbing their Joy-Con at the screen as hard as they can to knock down pins with as much force as possible.

There are also some notes around the online modes for the game. Specifically, the Pro League in Nintendo Switch Sports is getting some new ranks. S Rank and Infinity Rank have now been added to the Pro Leagues, moving those currently in A ranks A30 through A39 to the new S ranks. Also, when creating a room, a player can now give it a Room ID, meaning that they can play online with people who are not friends through Nintendo Switch Online.

There were also some other patch notes revealed by Nintendo, including a new icon that will appear when a Joy-Con controller connection becomes unstable. Unfortunately, there seems to have been no new content added to the game for now. Fans are expecting golf to arrive in Nintendo Switch Sports at some point, but it seems they may have to wait until Autumn to see a new sport added to the title.

Nintendo Switch Sports is out now on the Nintendo Switch.
