Halo Infinite campaign co-op will not feature matchmaking, when 343 Industries finally releases it. This means that you will need to find a teammate using other channels.

A Microsoft spokesperson told GamesRadar (via VGC), “Online matchmaking will not be available with final co-op. We encourage you to continue to use the Halo LFG and the new Discord voice call feature on Xbox to find players to party up with as you continue playing the beta.”

343 gave us a good look at the new campaign co-op a few weeks ago. This came after news that the much-anticipated mode would not, in fact, launch on the date that people presumed it would.

Nonetheless, it looks like fun. Though, it does feel like it ought to have been present when the game launched. Halo Infinite was a decent Halo. But there remains about it the feeling that it wasn’t quite ready to go out when it did. But it was fun, even on day one.

In VideoGamer’s review of the game, I said:

“After the game’s year-long delay, and the fact that it is launching in bits and pieces, it’s a relief to report that the multiplayer is an unreserved joy. Whether it will be the Halo for the next ten years, as has been said, remains to be seen. But it is, right now, where 343 has succeeded with Halo Infinite—where it has taken us full circle and where it is looking ahead.”
