343 Industries has kicked off the Alpha Pack story event in the multiplayer portion of Halo Infinite.

As per the Halo Waypoint, the event runs from now until August 2 carrying on the ongoing Lone Wolves arc. As well as bringing along some new cinematics and advancing the story, there’s also a new Event Pass complete with plenty of new cosmetics. Spartans will be able to earn these by completing Event Challenges in gameplay.

The story of Season 2 so far saw a couple of unexpected visitors to the Avery J. Johnson Academy. Spartans Sigrid Eklund and Hieu Dinh showed up in a stolen Phantom, but Dinh was suffering badly. Turns out the pair had been fighting the first Banished AI, which Dinh bravely offered to carry in his Spartan Armour at cost to his health. Now the Spartans must find a way to remove the AI from Dinh’s head before it kills him, and see what they can learn about the enemy.

The Event Challenges are all focused around the Last Spartan Standing game mode, with the playlist a major feature of the update. Taking place on Big Team Battle maps including Breaker, Deadlock, Highpower and Fragmentation, players have a limited number of respawns. Once they’re out, they’re out. Players can earn a free Iratus Unleashed emblem just by logging into the event. There’s also a new CAMBION helmet set in the store.
