Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout recently made the transition from being a paid game to free-to-play, subsequently re-launching with a completely different monetization and progression system. Within the first few days, Fall Guys' free-to-play version amassed over 20 million players while also releasing on the Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles. While there were some issues upon the release of this new version, developer Mediatonic still saw plenty of success in the transition. However, not all the reception has been positive towards the game's reworked systems.

Recently, players have reported a bug that involved the in-game cosmetics store for Fall Guys. One post on Reddit demonstrated that they were only checking out some items within it, and without confirming anything, the game automatically purchased a cosmetic that they didn't want. A fellow Redditor had a similar issue, recalling the incident with the customer service representative being dismissive of them when they claimed it was a bug. After several players have reported this issue, the Fall Guys developers have come out and addressed the issue.

In a recent tweet on Fall Guys' Twitter account, Mediatonic states that the team has heard all the feedback regarding the accidental purchases, and apologized that they didn't address things sooner. As a result, the team will be implementing some ways to make it up for all the customers who were affected. The first of which is that the in-game store's design is going to be improved so that this issue won't happen again.

The second of which is that all players who made a purchase within the Fall Guys store will be refunded upon request. This applies to all cosmetic purchases that have been made starting from June 21, and all of these refunds will be honored until the store has been fixed. The third update is that players will be getting a free legendary Grandis skin as compensation, which is a variation on the Long Guy Fall Guys costume. The promotional image of this skin notes that the Grandis skin can also change colors, which is tied to the player's equipped color scheme.

In a statement with PC Gamer, a spokesperson with Mediatonic also addressed the poor customer service that players had received during this period, noting that the response was "unacceptable" and that they would intend to make things right. Despite the issues that fans had experienced, the Fall Guys team is looking to correct these hurdles and ensure customers are satisfied.

Fall Guys is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
