A common sight when watching a good Western film, whether it's a classic or more modern take on the genre, is the lucky shot during a shootout. Red Dead Redemption 2 is the kind of game where replicating this moment is ripe for the picking, as players can find themselves in plenty of shootouts against the law or other gangs that present the perfect opportunity for the lucky gunshot. One player was able to pull this shot off during a creekside shootout with members of the O'Driscoll Boys, dropping two hostile O'Driscolls for the price of one bullet.

Red Dead Redemption 2, which originally released in 2018, takes place 12 years before the events of the first Red Dead Redemption and chronicles the last days of the Van der Linde gang. Players take control of Arthur Morgan, one of Dutch Van der Linde's closest friends and confidants, who helps the gang survive the onslaught of government officials and rival gangs hunting the group during the dying days of the Wild West. Players' decisions shape Morgan's personality as his story unfolds, which intertwines closely with a younger John Marston looking to leave the gang with his Abigail and move on from their life of crime.

As mentioned, one of those rival gangs the Van der Linde gang regularly finds themselves in the crosshairs of is the O'Driscoll Boys during the course of the game. It leads to multiple shootouts as the two gangs hunt each other in hopes of eliminating the other, along with Morgan helping gangmate Sadie Adler hunt down the O'Driscolls who killed her family at the beginning of the game. It was during one of these shootouts Reddit user TuRkinator managed to pull of a two-for-one shot, an accomplishment they were keen to share on the game's official subreddit.

What makes this shot even more impressive is that TuRkinator was able to pull it off without having to use their Deadeye ability. The Deadeye's ability to slow down time and mark targets makes it ideal for trying to make this shot happen, though it still wouldn't be a guarantee. It speaks to the sheer luck needed to pull this shot off in game and the clear sense of pride in TuRkinator sharing this clip.

The clip also highlights another element of Red Dead Redemption 2's overall appeal, and that is making the player feel like they're in their own Western film. Rockstar Games isn't shy about the drawing inspiration from classic Westerns like The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, The Wild Bunch, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Once Upon a Time in the West. A clip like TuRkinator wouldn't feel out of place in films like these as the lead characters are typically gunslingers capable of pulling off crack shots to live another day.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
