Pokemon fans have been awaiting the release of the ninth generation since the announcement of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. While they wait, fans have only seen a handful of Pokemon, including the three starters from this next era of the franchise. As a form of prediction, one Pokemon fan decided to show what they believe the shiny version of Fuecoco will look like in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Fuecoco.

The ninth generation of Pokemon was first revealed in February of this year and will debut in November 2022. Alongside the Fire-type starter Fuecoco, fans have also seen Sprigatito, the Grass-type, as well as Quaxly, the Water-type. At the moment, their evolutions remain unclear as well as what their shiny versions.

This fun creation comes from u/Blaze_Enforcer, and they have done well to recreate Fuecoco without altering the overall design. In their post they have both the original look for this Fire-type as well as their custom shiny version. As with other Fire-type starters in the Pokemon franchise, the original Fuecoco is a mix of reds, yellows, and whites. The shiny version of the other Fire-type starters, however, differ wildly and that is true in u/Blaze_Enforcer’s version of Fuecoco. Their shiny Fuecoco is mostly black and white with a belly and tail patch a bright blue color. That coloration is quite a deviation from other shiny Fire-types such as Chimchar, whose shiny version is a subtle shade change.

The inspiration of this fan art has to be another Fire-type that Pokemon fans know well, Mega Charizard X. That Pokemon also features a brilliant mix of black with light blue that is identical to this shiny version of Fuecoco. At the moment, there isn’t a clear idea what the actual design will look like, so there is always a chance that this ends up being an accurate prediction.

Shiny versions of Pokemon are a great way for the Pokemon franchise to add a new flavor to the designs that players have become familiar with. Adding these new-look versions also give players an additional objective to hunt for while working their way through any of the games.

Then again, the odds of stumbling upon shiny Pokemon are so small that it can easily become quite frustrating. Especially for those players looking to get specific Pokemon that aren’t common in any particular area. Either way, this player made a great shiny version of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Fire-type starter.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will release on November 18, 2022 for the Nintendo Switch.
