Nexon's next major co-op title, The First Descendant, has got a Steam page and is opening up registrations for upcoming tests in the fall. The cooperative action RPG shooter from Nexon will be free-to-play and is powered by Unreal Engine 5.

The Steam page details some of the first real hints about what the action RPG shooter will look like, with players teaming up in groups of four players to fight bosses and other enemies in an effort to save the "Ingris continent." Nexon is promising a "spectacular story" in the experience, as well as the ability to customize characters and play styles. Taking the form of the titular Descendants, players will use a variety of equipment to get around as well, such as grappling hooks, and more.

"The First Descendant is a free third-person cooperative action RPG shooter featuring high-quality graphics. Experience the fun of strategic boss fights through 4-player co-op and various unique characters, exciting gunplay, and looting. A variety of equipment is necessary for growth, and you can obtain them through clearing scenario missions within the game or in the World Missions where cooperation is crucial and battles with huge bosses."

As part of the Steam page launch this past week, Nexon is opening up pre-registration on the platform for those who want to take part in future testing. Tentatively the testing period is scheduled between the end of September and beginning of October, though the exact times will be revealed later on. You can sign up on Steam using the platform's beta registration system.

The looter shooter was teased by Nexon last year, tentatively called Project Magnum, with the team billing it at the time as a fast-paced, third-person shooter with an RPG system. Seems like much of what the team teased last year is still intact here, and it'll be interesting to see how it progresses as testing approaches later this year.

Ta, Massively.
