Ubisoft has unveiled Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence, a new mobile entry in the third person shooter series coming soon.

This RPG shooter spin-off will take place in The Division’s version of New York.  The free-to-play offering will have its own storyline, while offering a “unique perspective” on the events of the previous games. While optimised for mobile devices, Ubisoft promises a vast open world that players will be free to roam around.

The game will be playable both solo or co-op, with a variety of both story missions and world activities just like its console brothers. There’ll be brand new characters to meet, alongside powerful enemies with their own abilities you’ll have to deal with. Naturally, you’ll be able to customise your characters by collecting and upgrading your gear too.

Along the way, you’ll level up your operative, and unlock new specialisations with unique gadgets and weapons. These can be swapped at any time, which the team are hoping will let you change tactics to best suit the make up of your co-op squads. You can check out a trailer for the game for yourself down below.

There isn’t a specific release date for Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence just yet. However, there will be a Closed Alpha that Ubisoft claim is “just around the corner”. If you want to get in on that, you can sign up for testing here. The game itself is set to release for iOS and Android later this year.
