The Awakening Collection Event for Apex Legends has recently concluded. The latest collection event for the battle royale allowed players to play the popular 9v9 Control LTM and check out the Lifeline Town Takeover on Olympus. In addition, Valkyrie became the latest Legend to receive an heirloom with the introduction of the Suzaku. Unfortunately, the past few weeks of content for the game have had some unintended consequences.

Following the launch of the Awakening Collection Event for Apex Legends, a large portion of the community started encountering issues regarding input latency. Specifically, the problem seemed to be impacting those playing on Xbox Series X/S consoles. In fact, the situation became so bad that some were even proposing boycotting the game. Luckily, it seems that the developers have heard these complaints from the community.

Recently, the official Twitter account for Respawn Entertainment sent out a message addressing the problems with input lag players on the newest generation of Xbox consoles have been experiencing. According to the game studio, a patch had been released targeting input lag on Xbox Series X and S. It claimed that this update would improve the gameplay experience for most players. In addition, the tweet thanked fans for their patience through the whole situation.

Since Respawn Entertainment posted this tweet, a number of fans have weighed in. With over 5,400 likes, many were glad to hear that the developers had allegedly fixed the problem and could now experience the game the way it was meant to be played. However, there were others that noted that there were still several issues that needed to be addressed with the game moving forward. Specifically, one fan claimed that there were ongoing problems with the menu system in the 3v3 elimination mode called Arenas.

Despite being a small update from the developer, this possible fix for input lag is obviously big news for Apex Legends moving forward. Over the past couple of weeks, many gamers have become discontent with the current state of the battle royale on Xbox consoles. In a game where quick reactions and precise aim are paramount, input lag risks ruining the experience.

Time will if this most recent patch shipped by the developers at Respawn Entertainment is enough to fix the majority of input lag encountered by players on Xbox Series X/S. Hopefully, the claims by the developer are accurate and this update is enough to resolve the issues so players can get back to enjoying the battle royale on Xbox consoles. If not, the game could start to see players migrate to other popular games on the market.

Apex Legends is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
