Nintendo has revealed a new multiplayer map for Splatoon 3, entitled Mincemeat Metalworks. It looks like a big industrial warehouse.

The Splatoon team tweeted out the reveal of this new map, saying:

“Squid Research Lab here with a meaty discovery—this is rare imagery of a new multiplayer stage. The facility was made FROM scrap metal in order to make MORE scrap metal. Also, there was a sea here that evaporated. Surely unrelated to heavy industry [ahem]!”

In other recent Splatoon 3 news, we got a new trailer for the game in April. Nintendo announced that the game will be out on September 9th, on Switch. And we also saw some extended turf war gameplay.

The last game in the series, Splatoon 2, came out in 2017. In VideoGamer’s review of that game, Alice Bell said:

“It’s strange and well made, and it’ll tide you over a few hours, but the multiplayer is still the star. Though there were some connection problems over our time with the game, Splatoon 2 isn’t unstable, and you can enjoy a few rounds uninterrupted. The continual circulation of maps keeps everyone on their toes, occurring often enough to be interesting, but not so frequent that it becomes annoying. Despite imperfections, Splatoon 2 improves on the original, and although the motion controls aren’t an easy way to play, the Switch is a good home for it. Prepare to eat paint, punk.”
