Ever since HBO's Game of Thrones ended three years ago, fans have been patiently waiting for the day when they can once again revisit the mystical land of Westeros. Among them is Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Ser Jamie Lannister himself, who recently said he was curious to see how the upcoming prequel series will turn out.

Coster-Waldau said that watching the House of the Dragon trailer seemed all too familiar. He admitted that it was "weird" to see the world of George R. R. Martin come back to life but in the best way possible, adding that the prequel's involvement of Miguel Sapochnik, the visionary director who oversaw some of the biggest episodes in Game of Thrones, will make for a "surreal" viewing experience. Coster-Waldau also wished the "incredible" cast all the success, knowing that being a part of the hit franchise will be a game-changer for them.

Speaking to PEOPLE at the Cannes Film Festival, Coster-Waldau couldn't end the interview without giving a shout-out to his fellow Game of Thrones castmates. Coster-Waldau made a heartfelt comment about his former co-stars, saying he misses his friends on the show and that they were truly a great group of people. He added that spending almost a decade together made them all closer to each other and that he really misses going to work and seeing the gang and the crew.

Naturally, fans have been curious about the state of the cast's friendships with each other since the show ended, especially since there have been rumors that some of them have had falling outs with one another. In particular, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams were subject to speculation. However, over the years, there have been subtle signs that the two are on good terms and that there is no bad blood between them.

In fact, in a recent interview, Williams said that the Game of Thrones cast is all in a group chat together where they keep in touch and often catch up with each other's lives. While it's unclear exactly how active they are in that group chat, it's surely comforting for fans to know that they still try to maintain connections with one another.

As for Coster-Waldau, he is busy promoting his new Audible Original crime drama podcast called Radioman. The series follows an ex-radio DJ named Chas who sets out to solve crimes with his friend Ian Whittaker in the fictional town of Yorkshire. Radioman is an Audible Original, and it is now available to stream on the platform.
