Despite many ups and downs, Marvel’s Avengers is still getting new content, with the game’s latest hero just a few days away from her official release. Come June 28, Marvel’s Avengers fans will be able to use The Mighty Thor in-game, with Jane Foster boasting unique abilities and her own hero challenge card. However, fans already have an idea of who could be coming to the game after Jane Foster’s debut.

Admittedly, it is unclear how much more support Marvel’s Avengers will get after Embracer's acquisition of Crystal Dynamics. If it does continue to receive content, though, players can expect four specific heroes to come to the game. While other names have been spotted by dataminers, there has been a significant amount of evidence for the following heroes.

She-Hulk

The hero most likely to come to Marvel’s Avengers soon is She-Hulk. With Jane Foster releasing just over a week before Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters, it can be assumed that She-Hulk will debut around the time of her Disney+ series in August. Not only has their been evidence of She-Hulk spotted within the game’s files, but the actor for Marvel’s Avengers’ She-Hulk has seemingly confirmed that she will be portraying the hero once she makes her way to the game.

As for how She-Hulk will play in Marvel’s Avengers, something similar to Jane Foster Thor will likely be seen. This means that though she would have spme similar attacks and powers to the original Hulk, she would also have abilities of her own. She could have some speed-focused attacks and abilities, leaning into the idea that she is more agile than her cousin. While it would be fun to see an Operation focused on the green lawyer, it can be assumed that She-Hulk will be added to the game without any major story content.

Winter Soldier

Winter Soldier is another hero that seems particularly likely for Marvel’s Avengers, as voice lines featuring elevator conversations with Bucky Barnes have leaked. While a voice actor for Bucky is not present in this leaked dialogue, the fact that Crystal Dynamics has recorded lines for the other heroes suggests that a lot of planning has already been done for Winter Soldier. As such, he seems like a logical next step after She-Hulk comes to the game.

As for how Winter Soldier would play, his moveset is interesting to think about. He would likely be the most comparable to Black Widow in the sense that he would be a hero with a solid balance between melee fighting and gunplay. Alongside a pistol for some ranged fighting, he would surely have a few super-powered punches that make use of his arm. Assuming that it is made from Vibranium like in the MCU, the arm could have some energy-focused abilities like what is seen with Black Panther’s suit.

War Machine

Another hero mentioned in the leaked character release order for Marvel’s Avengers, War Machine is expected to come to the game after Winter Soldier. While it remains to be seen if this is still the plan, it is easy to imagine how he could be worked into the narrative. Crystal Dynamics could pull from the comics to release him alongside Captain Marvel, playing off their romantic relationship in the source material. If the developer wants to add him on his own, tying his story to Tony Stark’s is ideal, as the two are best friends. All fans know is that his design would be very similar to the MCU version, as concept art has been leaked in the past.

War Machine would likely play like Iron Man, but with more guns than lasers. Players could use Rhodey’s minigun and some rocket launchers in regular combat, with close range gun attacks being a nice way to make War Machine feel different from Iron Man and his repulsers. While the Satellite Armor could be used as a stand-in for the Hulkbuster, giving Rhodey something more unique would make sense. Perhaps his weapons could be adjusted so that they do not overheat for thirty seconds when his Ultimate is active. With how different Kate Bishop and Clint Barton feel to play, Crystal Dynamics would surely find a way to make Rhodey's gameplay special.

Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel in What If...?

With Ms. Marvel being at the heart of Marvel’s Avengers’ story, it makes sense for Carol Danvers to come to the game eventually, as a heartfelt conversation between the two is long overdue. With the Kree Invasion being so crucial to the ongoing story, having a character like Captain Marvel is a must, as she has deep connections to the Kree. Based on past leaks, she would come after War Machine, and many are hoping her arrival would bring some major story content.

Just like in the comics and the MCU, Captain Marvel would surely be incredibly powerful if she became playable. Fans could expect cosmic energy blasts, flight, and other exciting abilities to be present in her kit. It seems likely that she would bring the ongoing story to a close if she was added giving her aforementioned relationship with the Kree. Her strength could be exactly what is needed to sway the battle, though it is worth noting that other characters are not completely off the table.

Other Leaked Heroes

While there is a good bit of evidence for all four of the aforementioned characters, the following heroes are a lot less likely to come to the game since only mentions of them have been found. Though they may have made their way to the roster if Marvel’s Avengers was a hit, its struggles are well-documented. Still, if an unexpected character does join the roster in a similar manner to Jane Foster, it will likely be from this lineup.

  • Ant-Man
  • Doctor Strange
  • Falcon
  • Mar-Vell
  • Mockingbird
  • Quake
  • Scarlet Witch
  • Spider-Woman
  • Vision
  • Wasp

While size-focused heroes like Ant-Man and The Wasp would make sense since Pym Particles already exist within the game, magic-focused characters like Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch would require a whole new set of mechanic, so they seem unlikely. Though fans would surely be excited to see a lot of these characters become playable, expectations should be kept low. As of now, She-Hulk, Winter Soldier, War Machine, and Captain Marvel are the most probable additions.

Marvel’s Avengers is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
