Nintendo has offered up more details and a new trailer ahead of next month’s launch of RPG Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

The information came as part of a scheduled Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Direct broadcast last night. During the presentation, we got a closer look at the characters and setting of Aionios where people only live for ten years. On the planet, two factions have been in what seems a never ending war – the nations of Keves and Agnos.

Your party however, is made up of three from a group of six characters who’ve put their differences aside. A greater threat is on the horizon, and Noah, Lanz, Eunie, Mio, Sena & Taion must work together to stop it. You’ll be able to switch out characters in your party as the situation demands it. You’ll also be able to recruit temporary ‘Heroes’ from other NPCs who may offer their swords or guns in your quest.

Nintendo also took the time to reveal the contents of the game’s expansion pass. Additional content starts on the day of launch, with some helpful items and outfit colour variants. There’ll be two more drops by the end of December 2022 and April 30, 2023 including new Challenge Battles, new Hero Characters and quests and new outfits. Then by December of 2023, the expansion pass will finish up with a brand new story scenario.

You will of course, be able to buy the expansion pass separately, or get it with the full game in a bundle. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 releases on July 29 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch and you can check out the new trailer and full Direct broadcast replay below.
