The upcoming animated musical will center its focus around Bugs Bunny, who decides to leave the exhausting Broadway stage for a simpler life as a rabbit. Daffy Duck quickly emerges to fill the void left behind by the emblematic rabbit but finds his time in spotlight interrupted by a fan, who kidnaps the hopeful Broadway star with more sinister plans in mind. Bugs Bunny and his Looney Tunes co-stars must set out to find Daffy, and hopefully the iconic rabbit's joy of performing.

Emmy-award winner Ariel Dumas will construct the upcoming musical's screenplay and pen the lyrics for the newly crafted original song and dance numbers. The animated film will also include new orchestration from the Warner Bros. library of movie musicals, which will look to create an old Hollywood and Broadway experience for audiences. Warner Bros. will also add a unique and modern way to sing along with the film, which is sure to be an exciting treat for families.

The combination of music and the mayhem that ensues in the Looney Tunes universe has been a recipe for success for decades, a point highlighted by Sam Register, president of Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios. While familiar, the studio will be able to add its unique stamp to the nostalgic cartoon characters, led by director Brandon Jeffords, who served as a storyboard artist on Netflix's The Mitchells vs. the Machines and co-director for the animated original Vivo.

A possible release date for the upcoming animated musical has yet to surface, but one can assume that more information and initial footage will emerge as the details behind the project continue to come together. Of course, the most interesting unknown element is the animation style the film will utilize. It'll be intriguing to see the direction Jeffords takes and if it will embody what many are accustomed to when it comes to the iconic Looney Tunes characters.
