Tiger & Bunny has once again been announced to get a live-action adaptation, this time via SK Global. A western adaptation was originally announced in 2015, however that project is in limbo; this time, the western live-action adaptation's script will be written by M. Raven Metzner, who is best known as one of the writers for Marvel's Iron Fist.

Tiger & Bunny is a 25-episode dystopian science fiction anime released in 2011. In a society where crime fighters are sponsored in a similar manner to NASCAR drivers, the old-school Kotetsu T. Kaburagi "Wild Tiger" and the new guy on the block Barnaby "Bunny" Brooks Jr. must set aside their inherent differences when their employers force them to work together as a crime-fighting team. Many of the sponsors in the anime are real-life companies such as BANDAI NAMCO, Pepsi, Amazon.com.jp, SoftBank, UStream, Gyu-Kaku, and Domino's Pizza. All fights with the heroes are broadcasted on Hero TV for points each hero can earn for a chance to become that season's King of Heroes.

The crime-fighting heroes acted as spokespersons for their respective brands within the anime; the reason branding was involved is believed to be a social commentary on consumerism and celebrity culture. Aside from the original anime, there are also two movies, a manga and a sequel series that premiered on Netflix called TIGER & BUNNY 2. In the manga as well as episodes streamed on Netflix, all branding images were removed. However, action figures were allowed to keep the branding accurate to the original anime.
