Nintendo has announced that the original Pokémon Snap will launch on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack on June 24.

The safari photography spin-off first released on the N64 in 1999. The setup has players take on the role of Todd, a photographer who’s offered to snap the famous creatures for Professor Oak, To do so, he’ll set out in the custom Zero-One vehicle, which will take him across a series of biomes to take pictures. These include a beach, river and even an active volcano, as you do.

If you’ve played last year’s New Pokémon Snap, you know what to expect – only blockier and perhaps with more Pokémon you’ll recognise if you prefer the OG 150 lineup from Pokémon Red & Blue. It’s a fun nostalgic romp nevertheless, and of course a welcome addition to the Switch’s growing N64 catalogue.

It’s also worth noting that it’s currently the final game of the first announced batch of post-launch N64 classics for the Expansion Pack service. In previous months, we’ve had The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, Paper Mario, and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards to name but a few.

Will we be getting any more titles down the road? Nintendo are keeping quiet so far. However, former games journalist and Sony Santa Monica writer Alanah Pearce claimed during a Twitch stream (thanks, Video Games Chronicle) that a Nintendo Direct broadcast may be coming at the end of the month. They’re the only one of the big three yet to hold a show during E3 Summer Game Fest 2022, so could a fresh batch of N64 games be announced then? We’ll have to wait and see.

In the meantime, you can check out the trailer for Pokémon Snap below. It arrives for subscribers to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack on June 24.
