Street Fighter is one of the longest running franchises in gaming. The first game in the series was released in the late 1980s, and the sixth installment will release sometime in 2023. Street Fighter is one of the mainstays in the fighting game genre and is looking to keep pushing forward when the latest title releases next year.

The main character throughout the series has been Ryu, who was introduced in the first Street Fighter and has been the main focus of the games since. The character has been featured prominently in the promotions for Street Fighter 6 and will probably continue to be one of the franchise's mainstays.

Capcom has released Ryu's theme from Street Fighter 6 for fans to listen to on Twitter. The song is called "Viator," which means traveler, something that Ryu has been for some time. The piece features an energetic beat along with a strong bass line and brass instruments, as well as turntable scratches throughout. The theme is very upbeat and is different from what has been used for the character in past iterations of the franchise. The tweet mentions that Ryu will be going on a new journey in Street Fighter 6, which would make a new direction for his theme more fitting.

"Viator" is causing a bit of division amongst the Street Fighter community, with many feeling that the song does not fit Ryu. A number of commenters say they do not like the new path Capcom seems to be taking with the upcoming game's music, mentioning that the new character themes do not fit. Some state that they like most of what they have seen so far from the Street Fighter 6 trailers and hope that a character's theme can be changed in-game to the classic songs. However, there are those who like the new soundtrack, saying that this is a new generation of the series and a different take on the themes is needed.

Street Fighter 6 will have new features to help shake things up a bit when it releases. There will be the Drive system, which grants players five different techniques that can be used when the Drive Gauge is filled. This includes a Parry to repel attacks and an Overdrive Art that is similar to EX Special Moves from past games. There will also be a new Modern control scheme that allows for easier inputs. With the new controls, one button will be dedicated to Special moves with different directional inputs leading to assigned techniques, making it easier for newcomers to input attacks.

Street Fighter 6 will release in 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
