Squanch Games, the studio founded by Rick & Morty creator Justin Roiland, has revealed its latest game as comedy FPS High On Life.

Indeed Roiland’s fingerprints (and his voice) are all over this shooter, that sees you play as a slacker-turned-alien-bounty-hunter. An alien cartel has invaded the earth, and they happen to use humans like drugs. So naturally it falls to you to save humans and, indeed, the earth in this out-there adventure.

Funnily enough, playing as an alien bounty hunter isn’t the only thing it shares in common with 2005’s Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath. Just like in that game, your weapons are sentient too. Each weapon, we’re told, has its own unique personality and thoughts & opinions they won’t hesitate to share. Each gun will also have its own special ability that you’ll have to discover too.

You’ll hop between planets on your journey, and encounter plenty of kooky characters and hunt down a range of alien enemies. It’s all in service to your ultimate goal of taking down the nefarious Garmantuous and his gang of goons. But there’s also some side-tasks too, including Hunter Challenges, Warp Bases and much more.

You can check out a trailer for the game for yourself down below. High on Life is currently expected later this year on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
