343 Industries has confirmed that it’ll finally begin testing of Halo Infinite‘s long awaited campaign co-op mode in July.

The studio made the announcement via the game’s official Twitter account last night. Fans wanting to give the mode a try before its official launch can sign up right now to the Halo Insider program. Doing so will net them a chance to try out an in-development build of the game, known as a ‘flight’. Players will be picked in July to take part in this latest flight in due course.

Fans have been patiently waiting for campaign co-op to be added to the game since the shooter launched in December. It’s been delayed a few times, first being promised for three months after the game’s release. However, 343 declared the mode needed more time, and pushed it back to May, coinciding with the start of Season Two.

Sadly, the team declared in March that it wouldn’t be able to meet the new deadline. However, they offered up a new release window of late August in a new roadmap published around a month later. Also missing from the game is the popular Forge mode, but an open beta for that is expected in September.

There’s no exact date for the Halo Infinite network campaign co-op beta flight just yet outside of that July window, but you’re advised to sign up to Halo Insider here if you want in. If you’ve been holding off on Master Chief’s latest adventure so far, you can check out our review over here.
