For many in the Pokemon community, hunting for shinies likely adds a new layer to the series’ age-old challenge of catching all pocket creatures. With Pokemon Scarlet and Violet just revealed in February 2022, not much is known about the shiny Pokemon in Gen 9. However, this did not stop a Pokemon fan from imagining what the shiny versions of new Electric type Pokemon Pawmi would look like in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

When Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s second trailer dropped, the fan base saw a lot of new features that were not part of the game’s announcement trailer. The legendary Pokemon Koraidon and Miraidon were given a dedicated highlight in the footage, while new pocket creatures such as Lechonk, Pawmi, and Smoliv were introduced as part of the gameplay sneak peek. This seems more than enough for fans to go on, as the game’s community has already started to make their own speculations and shiny designs of the new Pokemon.

On the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet subreddit, user Nu_clear_skin shared their ideas on what a shiny Pawmi would look like in the game. This same Redditor was the artist behind the recent fanmade Lechonk shiny variant designs, and they decided to make versions for Pawmi as well. Nu_clear_skin was able to create four different shiny variants of Lechonk but only designed three for Pawmi, stating that they could not think of a fourth for the Pokemon. In the comments section, they replied to another Redditor that other color shifts they used on Pawmi looked terrible, in their opinion. View more images on Reddit.

In the fanmade images, instead of the Pokemon’s bright orange color scheme, the artist used hues of grey, blue, and yellow to create Pawmi’s shiny variants. Most shiny Pokemon often have muted or pastel colors compared to their original versions so the artist’s renditions do not seem to stray far from the video game series' trend. Being another Electric type like Pikachu, seeing Pawmi in the famous Pokemon’s yellow color scheme is likely an interesting take for fellow fans of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

As of the moment, only a couple of new Pokemon have been introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The roster includes the three starters, the legendaries, Lechonk, Pawmi, and Smoliv. Hopefully Nu_clear_skin’s next shiny Pokemon variant design project will focus on Smolive. Fans will likely be interested in seeing what color scheme the artist uses for the new Grass and Normal-type Pokemon.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will release for the Nintendo Switch on November 18, 2022.
