All Elite Wrestling athlete Kenny Marquez, commonly known by his ring name Jake Atlas, was recently arrested and charged with domestic battery after an incident with his partner prompted the police to initially detain him in Orange County, Florida.

27-year-old Atlas, who is openly gay, started his wrestling career by signing with the WWE in late 2019, making appearances in several events until his release in the summer of 2021. Shortly after, he booked various appearances in AEW before eventually signing a contract in early January this year. Unfortunately, Atlas' career had taken a turn for the worse after the wrestler briefly contemplated retirement and a torn ACL injury put him through surgery, thus keeping him out of action for the months before the alleged domestic violence episode.

As noted by TMZ Sports, the police report gathered after the incident says Atlas was arrested on May 23 after a “huge verbal argument” resulted in the wrestler attacking his boyfriend. The attack reportedly left him with scratching injuries inflicted by the 5’11, 230-pound Atlas. Allegedly, Atlas became aggressive after a night of drinking, and it’s speculated the argument could have been initiated by the couple choosing to take part in sexual acts with another woman, although those matters will be settled by a judge on June 28.

The reports include conflicting accounts of the events, such as Atlas supposedly telling his partner he was paying more attention to the female individual. For now, Atlas has been released from custody on the condition that he’d maintain zero contact with his partner. AEW was reached by several outlets for further comments on the incident, though no official statements were made that might suggest Atlas' contract could be terminated or face any sanction, regardless of the verdict.

Currently, the All Elite Wrestling promotion company is working on its own video game to compete with 2K's WWE, AEW Fight Forever, which already has teased roster members with some rough gameplay footage included. That’s far from the only video game crossover for AEW, as some wrestlers recently visited Naughty Dog's offices to learn a bit more about what it takes to make a great game.

For now, there are many details about the game still up in the air, but it’s been confirmed at least that AEW Fight Forever will feature DLC fighters, just like its rival.
