Capcom has offered fans a full reveal for the latest entry in their beat-em-up series, Street Fighter 6, which is coming next year.

The logo’s had something of a rehash since we first saw it back in February, but that wasn’t the main highlight here. In fact, we got to see a meaty chunk of gameplay footage and details on the latest entry. For a start, despite the previous Street Fighter being a PlayStation & PC exclusive, SF6 will arrive on Xbox Series X/S, too.

Capcom also confirmed the first four fighters for the roster. Of course, we already knew that Ryu and relatively new-returnee Luke were on board from the previous reveal. However, we can now count Chun Li and a brand new character, Jamie. Presumably, we’ll hear about more as time goes on.

Some of the new features include World Tour mode and Battle Hub. There’s also a new ‘Modern Control Type’ system that should help newcomers pull off special moves easier. There’s also a brand new Real Time Commentary system, which will use commentary from actual Street Fighter pros for the first time.

Meanwhile, the new Drive System allows players to plug in five different techniques. Using any of these depletes a Drive Gauge made up of six Drive Stocks, with some techniques using more Stocks than others. It replenishes over time, but letting it completely empty induces Burnout which makes you vulnerable to being stunned.

You can read up more on that here. Street Fighter 6 arrives on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC at some point in 2023. You can check out a trailer and a video on the new commentary mode below.
