Destiny 2's Season of the Haunted launched a little over 48 hours ago, and players have already been toying with the various new weapons, the Leviathan patrol zone, and Solar 3.0 Aspects and Fragments. There is a lot of depth to Season of the Haunted, but one of the most sought-after additions to the game remains the ability to craft new builds with the improved Solar subclasses. Destiny 2's rework of Solar subclasses follows the same philosophy as the Void 3.0 update, with new keywords that define the Aspects and Fragments' boons.

There are many powerful interactions to discover in the Solar 3.0 update, and while many of them are class-specific due to the nature of both Aspects and Exotic armor pieces, players can still find more basic combos with Fragments alone. However, not all of Destiny 2's new Solar Fragments are currently available, and some players have been able to claim locked ones from Ikora Rey at the Tower. Today's TWAB explains that this shouldn't have happened, as four Fragments were intentionally locked on launch.

In the TWAB, Bungie explains that four out of the 14 Solar 3.0 Fragments added with Season of the Haunted are supposed to be unlocked when reaching a community-wide goal. According to the developer, players will need to collectively complete the Nightmare Containment public event on the Derelict Leviathan 20 million times, which is when the remaining four Fragments will become available for everyone to purchase at Ikora's.

This is not the first time Bungie has challenged the community to grinding races to unlock something, and the TWAB even states that Destiny 2 players are already on the way to completing this gargantuan task. It's unclear at this point how long it will take for the four Fragments to become purchasable, but it's likely that within a whole week the 20 million completion goal will be surpassed.

Among the numerous new features, Season of the Haunted also marks a major milestone for the community. In fact, Destiny 2 finally adds a new Crucible map after nearly 1,000 days without one, which is called Disjunction and is fully available from the get-go. With Iron Banner, which comes for the first time this Season on May 31, players will also be able to run the new rendition of Rift, an iconic old game mode that many fans requested over the years.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
