Halo Infinite has gone dieselpunk, with the new Fracture: Entrenched event, which gives players lots of new customisation options.

The event adds new challenges, a limited time playlist, and Eaglestrike—which is a “dieselpunk armor core,” apparently.

Check out the trailer for the Fracture: Entrenched event below:

The description reads:

“Dig in! Fracture: Entrenched kicks off May 24 and brings you Eaglestrike, the dieselpunk armor core. Earn brand-new customization content and play Land Grab throughout the duration of the event. You’ll have more chances to level up and advance your free Event Pass when Fracture: Event returns again later in Season 2!”

343 Industries and Xbox Game Studios launched Halo Infinite in late 2021, and it has been launching ever since. With events and chunks of DLC landing here and there. The ability to play the game’s campaign in co-op is set to arrive in August. And the Forge open beta is coming for September, as part of Season 2.

In VideoGamer’s review of the game, I said:

“After the game’s year-long delay, and the fact that it is launching in bits and pieces, it’s a relief to report that the multiplayer is an unreserved joy. Whether it will be the Halo for the next ten years, as has been said, remains to be seen. But it is, right now, where 343 has succeeded with Halo Infinite—where it has taken us full circle and where it is looking ahead.”

And I stand by that. The campaign was a good time, as was the multiplayer, which now boasts dieselpunk armour.
