Servants have an important role to play in V Rising, as they can be used to defend a player's castle and collect resources on their behalf. The game's Servant feature can seem a bit overwhelming upon first glance, though, and some fans may be unclear about exactly how they are to approach it. This guide is here to shine some light on this matter, and it will provide full details on Servants in V Rising.

V Rising: How to Get Servants

Players that interested in acquiring Servants should simply work their way through V Rising's quests until they receive one called "Army of Darkness." This quest instructs survival game fans to use Dominating Presence to convert a human into a Servant, and here is a walkthrough of exactly how that is done:

  1. Locate a human enemy and get their health to 30% or less.
  2. Press Ctrl and select Dominating Presence from the wheel.
  3. Press R to use the ability on the human.
  4. Escort the human back to the castle and interact with the Servant Coffin.
  5. Click on Convert and wait for the process to complete.

To note, upgrading a Castle Heart increases the number of Servant Coffins that a player can have at their base, with nine being the maximum amount. While it may take fans a while to establish that many coffins, primarily due to the fact that constructing them requires Greater Blood Essence in V Rising, it is a worthwhile endeavor. Indeed, the extra resources that can be accumulated with the help of nine Servants can be significant and will greatly boost a player's economy.

V Rising: Servant Stats and Perks

While those are the basics of obtaining Servants, it is important to mention that not all of them are created equal. Indeed, Servants have their own stats and perks, and they are impacted by the following:

  • Blood Type: A Servant's perks are determined by two factors, one of which is their Blood Type. This perk will decrease the difficulty of certain hunts, increasing the likelihood of success.
  • Faction: Servants also receive a perk based on their faction, and it will increase the loot that they bring in from successful hunts in the region they are affiliated with.
  • Blood Quality: A Servant's blood quality will determine their base expertise, which makes locating humanoids with high percentages a priority.
  • Gear: Equipping Servants with armor and weapons in V Rising will increase their power and gear level.

V Rising: How to Use Servants

Once a human has been converted and equipped, fans can sit upon the Castle Throne and start putting their Servant to work. This process begins with a map that is divided into many areas, and players should hover their mouses over the various regions to see the V Rising materials that can be extracted from them. Upon identifying a location that can yield loot that is of interest, fans should click on it to move to next the phase of using a Servant.

That phase is to determine if the player's Servant is capable of successfully hunting in the selected area. To do this, fans should click on "Click to Add" in the location menu and then compare the number that is next to the crossed swords and the number that is below the Servant's name. If these numbers are close to one another then the Servant is likely equipped for the hunt, and players should feel free to select them.

As a quick aside, vampire video game fans that have more than one Servant should also be looking at their perks during this phase. Indeed, assigning a Servant with perks that correspond to those on the left of the location's crossed swords will increase the success rate and material yields.

With a Servant selected, fans will see the chance of a successful hunt appear below their name. This chance can be altered by adjusting the duration of the hunt, which manifests as a multicolored bar below the Servant, and the goal is to maintain a high percentage while minimizing the length. As soon as a player has achieved that goal, they should click on "Let the Hunt Begin" to send their Servant out to collect resources in V Rising.

After the duration of the hunt has lapsed, fans of crafting in video games will see a small bag icon above the Servant Coffin. Players can then interact with the coffin, summon the Servant, and collet the loot that they gathered from their inventory before initiating another hunt.

V Rising is available in Early Access on PC.
