Though Destiny 2's Guardian Games 2022 event is slowly winding down, a significant number of players are still enjoying the new Strike playlists, scoring system, and the addictive nature of combat medals. Since chasing a high score is one of the main draws of Guardian Games, some players are taking things a step further still by relying on various exploits and bugs to stack up points.Bungie isn't shy about its stance on Destiny 2 exploits, and while the company has previously issued a number of tweaks and fixes to reduce the odds of players finding a new exploit before Guardian Games 2022 ends, there are issues still. In fact, the developer had to swap out the active Strike due to an all-new scoring bug that led to players getting hundreds of thousands of points easily.RELATED: Destiny 2 Reveals New Trials of Osiris ArmorWhile the latest playlist tweak isn't quite as comprehensive as the previous Destiny 2 Guardian Games cheese fix, it's a major change for the final week of the event, regardless. Players seem to have found out that they could stick around a specific room in the featured Scarlet Keep Strike and farm enemies for high scores for as long as they like. Bungie promptly reacted by replacing The Scarlet Keep with the new Birthplace of the Vile Strike.

According to players, it was reasonably easy to reach over 1,000,000 points solo by using this exploit, though it was an easy enough fix for Bungie, as it didn't need to push a complex hotfix live to resolve the problem. This is especially pertinent as the developer is likely focused on the imminent launch of entirely new content, though there's some confusion there, too, as the long-awaited Destiny 2 Season 17 trailer isn't out yet.

Instead of focusing on existing content and this year's Guardian Games - which are effectively over anyway, with Warlocks winning - the focus of last night's TWAB blog was on the next season. This will be the first time that a new paid Destiny 2 Dungeon comes out, and judging by the provided overview, it should be roughly the size of Grasp of Avarice, with a full armor set, cosmetics, weapons, and more available as unlocks.

Since Bungie is going for a stealthy release of Season 17, Destiny 2 has only teased the new Dungeon at this time, and players don't know much of anything about the upcoming content's theme and narrative beats. It's not particularly strange that Bungie would opt for easy fixes for Guardian Games, then, especially since the issue was limited to one particular Strike.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
