Microsoft Flight Simulator Italy & Malta Update

Microsoft Flight Simulator has received its latest free content expansion with World Update IX: Italy & Malta. The new patch has been deployed for all available platforms including Xbox Series X/S and for PC via Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, Windows 10/11, Steam, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Italy and Malta have been refined with this patch to include the latest “geospatial data available, including digital elevation modeling, aerial and satellite imagery, and triangulated irregular network (TIN) modeling of 20 cities, including Rome, Naples, Venice, and Milan. This update includes four handcrafted airports, 94 custom points of interest (POIs) in Italy, 11 custom points of interest in Malta, three bush trips, three discovery flights, and three new landing challenges.

  • Four handcrafted airports:
    • Palermo Airport (LICJ) in Sicily
    • Sondrio Airport (LILO) in the southern Tyrol
    • Marina di Campo Airport (LIRJ) on Elba Island
    • Bolanzo Airport (LIPB) in the southern Tyrol
  • Enhanced detail of 100 other airports
  • 94 points of interest in Italy
  • 11 points of interest in Malta
  • Three bush trips
  • Three discovery flights
  • Three new landing challenges.
