As is usually the case, Bungie is keeping a tight lid on any and all major reveals and information drops about Destiny 2's next big content drop, Season 17. Over the past couple of years, Bungie has pivoted to keeping new seasonal releases under wraps until a week before launch, revealing just technical details and feature-level revamps, if necessary.Destiny 2's Season 17 is no different in this respect, but it seems that Bungie may have slipped up this time around. As part of last week's TWAB blog post, the company featured a special screenshot from the game's upcoming Throne World PvP level, Disjunction, and it seems to have featured all three new armor sets that are supposed to be coming with the new season, as well as a few new weapons.RELATED: Destiny 2 Details Iron Banner Changes for Season 17Though Destiny 2's new Season 17 Ritual Weapon has already been shown off, Bungie keeps dedicated seasonal items hidden due to them potentially revealing the subject of the season itself, as well as its potential narrative. The screenshot, which has been upscaled via AI, features what could be Fallen-themed armor and weapons. The hunter's cape, for example, bears insignia that could be a new iteration of one of the Eliksni houses. If that is the case, then Season 17 is bound to be Fallen-themed as well.

The reason players are putting so much stock into this particular image is that Bungie ended up cropping out the armors out from the blog post image after discussions about it first popped up. Naturally, this simply got more people talking about it, especially since Bungie is known to include hints about upcoming content. In fact, Destiny 2 is already teasing Bungie's next game in some way.

It's still unclear whether these really are Fallen-themed armor sets or not, but it seems all but certain that the two weapons the Guardians have on their backs are a sword and a trace rifle, due to their silhouettes. These will, of course, be mere highlights for Season 17's key content, such as the new story missions, progression systems, and the long-awaited release of Destiny 2's weekly Raid and Dungeon rotator.

The meta, too, is being shaken up rather seriously, with the potential release of niche Champion mods in Destiny 2 Season 17. Whatever the case may be, interested players won't need to wait all that long to see it in action. Season 17 is set to launch next week, on May 24, and the reveal trailer should be coming out sometime today.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
