Striking Distance CEO Glen Schofield has said there’ll be some new details on The Callisto Protocol later this week.

The game’s director was speaking on his Twitter account this past Friday, showing off some concept art for the game. He said “If you don’t already follow @CallistotheGame now might be a good time to start. Look for some news next week. Until then, here’s a closeup of one of the creatures from our world class character team. They’re incredible.”

It’s been a little while since we heard much about the space-set survival horror since the development team announced their teamup with The Walking Dead studio Skybound last February. We know the game will be a survival horror and apparently set in the PUBG Battlegrounds universe. It’s also set to launch later this year, but aside from that we’re a little in the dark.

There’s plenty of reasons to keep an eye on the game, however. While it may be the first game from Schofield’s Striking Distance Studios, the team is made up of several former Visceral employees with Schofield himself credited by many as the creator of Dead Space. It’s pretty timely too, given the remake of that game just announced its release date for January 27, 2023.

We’ll keep our ears to the ground and let you know of any The Callisto Protocol developments once we hear of them. The game is currently pencilled in for a console and PC launch later this year.
