The final days of the Season of Alola are fast approaching and Pokemon GO players have plenty of activities to focus on to stay busy as the summer season draws closer. While trainers continue enjoying the jam-packed May 2022 Pokemon GO calendar of events, they should also take a moment to start the newest Special Research chain available in the mobile AR game.
This week players should find the Alola Season themed "A Poni Adventure" Special Research available in their app. Be sure to take a moment to click through the opening lines of text and register that the quest chain has been stated. At that point, Pokemon GO players can start workiing through the fairly short chain and claiming their rewards over the coming days.
This Special Research chain isn't a particularly long or difficult one, so any player who logs in while it's available and plays casually over the coming week is likely going to wrap the tasks up without too much extra effort. Players will need to catch Pokemon, power up Pokemon, battle Team GO Rocket Grunts, and complete a handful of other tasks in order to get through the three-part challenge. None of the tasks are very difficult, but players will need to win at least one raid when they reach the final step...

- Catch 10 Pokémon (10 Poké Balls)
- Power up Pokémon 5 times (5 Razz Berries)
- Defeat 2 Team Go Rocket grunts (3 Hyper Potions)

- Catch 3 water-type Pokémon (Tentacruel encounter)
- Take a snapshot of a water-type Pokémon (Wailmer encounter)
- Use 5 berries to help catch Pokémon (Wingull encounter)
- Rewards: 1 Fast TM, 500 XP, 500 Stardust

- Walk 2 km (Miltank encounter)
- Catch 15 Pokémon (10 Great Balls)
- Spin 5 PokéStops or gyms (Stufful encounter)
- Rewards: 1 Premium Battle Pass, 1,000 XP, 1,000 Stardust

- Send 5 gifts to friends (10 Great Balls)
- Catch 15 Pokémon (7 Pinap Berries)
- Win a raid (Alolan Exeggutor encounter)
- Rewards: 15 Ultra Balls, 8,000 XP, 3,000 Stardust
Trainers should be able to complete the full Special Research with just a few hours of gameplay over the coming week. There haven't been any spoilers or hints about the next season for the mobile AR game, but those details should likely be dropping soon as the second half of May and the final days of the Season of Alola arrive.
