God of War Ragnarok is scheduled to release later this year, with many looking forward to the follow-up thanks to the success of the 2018 game. Though it remains to be seen how Kratos and Atreus’ story will unfold, one God of War Ragnarok fan paid homage to what is known about the game through a beautiful poster.

This is hardly the first time that God of War fan art has been shared, however. Players have made tributes to Mimir, Atreus, and the God of War universe’s still-unrevealed version of Odin. Obviously, the franchise’s protagonist Kratos has been the subject of many art pieces, with fans often paying homage to his Greek and Norse designs. With one gamer even creating an art piece that depicts Old Man Kratos, the God of War series’ fan base is clearly passionate.

However, instead of focusing on a single God of War character, Reddit user No_Stomach6774 decided to pay homage to nearly the entire cast of the sequel with their piece. Like the movie posters the artist strived to emulate, faces for the characters can be seen. Intriguingly, Atreus is seen at the very center of the poster, having his full body shown to establish his importance. With many believing that Kratos’ days are numbered and that Atreus will function as the protagonist in future games, focusing on him so heavily is understandable.

Behind Atreus, Kratos can be seen looking up, with the father son duo being the only characters that the artist depicts in full color. Everyone else has a blueish grey color scheme, fitting of the snow that will come during the Norse event of Ragnarok. Brok and Sindri can both be seen to the left of the image, with the vengeful Freya also pictured. A neat touch sees her makeup smeared as a result of all the crying she has done since Kratos killed Baldur. Angrboda is also depicted on the left side of the image.

Mimir and Tyr round out the list of pictured characters, with the former’s eyes glowing yellow. Alongside the artist’s signature, several neat touches can be seen, such as the names Cory Barlog and Eric Williams. At the top of the image, Christopher Judge and Sunny Suljic have their names listed, further capturing the movie poster feel. The PlayStation Studios and Santa Monica logos are also included. Unsurprisingly, Redditors have responded well to the post, with over 1,100 upvotes and many positive comments shared.

While fans continue to theorize about God of War Ragnarok’s story, gamers should not have to wait too much longer for answers. The highly anticipated game is set to arrive before 2022 comes to a close, meaning that players will be interacting with all the characters featured in this poster very soon.

God of War Ragnarok is scheduled to release on PS4 and PS5 sometime in 2022.
