The concept of androids and cyborgs is almost as old as the genre of science-fiction itself, as imaginations run wild at the possibilities of human and mechanical hybrids.

Having robotic parts, however, does not remove their sex appeal, and anime creators have come up with some truly sultry cyborgs over the years. Here are some fan-favorite Anime Androids that are almost too much to handle.

Android 18: Dragon Ball Z

Android 18 Dragon Ball Franchise

This blonde bombshell was born as a human named Lazuli, twin sister to Lapis, before the unlucky pair were abducted and transformed into Android 17 and 18 by the deranged Dr. Gero. The doctor chose to keep most of the twins' fleshy structure, only altering their genetic structures with powerful bio-organic systems.

The few components of Android 18 and her brother that are inorganic are the deactivation controller and perpetual energy reactor - making them more human than machine. After joining the Z-Warriors, this bewitching beauty adds MILF to her repertoire when she shocked fans by marrying Krillin (of all people) and giving birth to a beautiful blonde baby girl named Marron.

Sister Ivry: Edens Zero

The Life of Edens Shining Star Edens Zero

She may not always have the sexiest outfit on, but Sister Ivry is still considered one of the most provocative waifus of Edens Zero, making her a fan favorite. Her sensuous personality makes up for her questionable style choices, as she makes no attempt to hide her S&M lifestyle.

This vivacious vixen even went so far as to set up a pleasure room aboard the Edens Zero ship, driving viewers' imaginations wild. Sister Ivry, along with her fellow Shining Stars, was built by Ziggy the Demon King, and the dominatrix ironically fills the role of healer for the crew - although she can also pack a mighty punch in combat.

Motoko Kusanagi: Ghost in the Shell

Kusanag Android Ghost in the Shell

Motoko Kusanagi is a powerhouse in the Ghost in the Shell film - having been cybernetically enhanced to form part of the Japanese Defense Force and earning herself the rank of second in command of Section 9 in the process. With her trusted M-23 submachine gun and partner, Batou Buttetsu, by her side, this statuesque cyborg helps to rid the streets of crime.

However, she is fighting an internal battle of her own, unsure of her human origin and suspicious of her memories. Kusanagi believes that her human past-life was completely fabricated, part of a deceitful rouse to distort her identity and alliances - she may have simply been a robot all along.

Eru Miru: Plastic Memories

Eru Miru the Giftia Plastic Memories

The excitable Eru Miru is a Giftia who forms part of the maintenance team at Terminal Service #1 of the SAI Corporation, who are responsible for manufacturing cyborgs. The company was the first to successfully created androids (called Giftia) that are almost indistinguishable from humans - except for the fact that they are reset every nine years or so, erasing their memories and personality traits in the process.

Miru is a particularly colorful character with a bountiful bosom and perverted tendencies. She gains much joy from groping unsuspecting boobies and teasing her co-workers for their wandering eyes, who are often distracted by her barely-covered breasts.

Frankenstein's Bride: Fate/Apocrypha

Frankenstein Beserker of Black Fate

Although this Berserker of Black has not officially been classified as an android, Frankenstein's Bride was created in a laboratory and many of her enhancements have mechanical components - she can even generate and control her own electricity. In an attempt to recreate an undead version of Adam and Eve, Dr. Victor Frankenstein first constructed a bride, but was sorely disappointed by the results.

His creature was subsequently abandoned, left to wander for eternity in a hopeless search of her ideal mate, who was never created. After her death, she becomes the Servant of Caules Forvedge Yggdmillennia but, once she received her Berserker attributes, Frankenstein's Bride lost most of her ability to speak, deepening her loneliness even further.

Battle of the Sexes

Android 17, Android 18 and Motoko Kusanag

Waifu's are, by nature, regularly over-sexualized to add a level of sex appeal to Anime content that keeps viewers glued to their screens. However, some of the most popular waifu's are not simply eye candy, but rather add to the storyline in their own unique way. The fan-favorite 'damsel-in-distress' trope still remains, however, these aforementioned alluring androids don't fit the bill. With beauty, brawn, and brains, these cyborgs all qualify as strong independent women who are not debilitated by their good looks. Beauty often comes with a feisty nature, making all these androids forces to be reckoned with.

As capable as some of these characters may be, some still fall under the stereotype of 'the weaker sex,' often having to follow the orders of whichever man is in power. Kusanagi, on the one hand, pushes these boundaries to the extreme, being the only android with sufficient lead character material. On the other hand, when comparing Android 18 to her twin brother, the power gap is between the two is significant - particularly during the Tournament of Power. Android 17's capabilities align his strength with top fighters such as Piccolo and Gohan, whereas his sister appears to be weaker than even Krillin. However, before the term 'discrimination' gets thrown around, this power gap could be a result of their lifestyles - being a married mom leaves little time for training.
