Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodhunt is a free-to-play battle royale set in the World of Darkness universe that features vampires on the streets of Prague, following the declaration of a "Bloodhunt." Players choose from an assortment of character archetypes to play as and set off into the streets to kill their foes and carry out the Bloodhunt.

From the brutal warrior-poets of the Brujah to the shadowy horrors of the Nosferatu to the Vain and Beautiful Toreador, there are a number of excellent archetypes for players to choose from as they battle other Vampires on the streets and rooftops of Prague. Meanwhile, Vampire Hunters roam the streets, serving as an additional hazard to players, and a source of blood and equipment.

The game will feature crossplay between all available platforms on launch, and this guide will explain exactly how crossplay works in Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodhunt.

Crossplay Basics

By default, all versions of Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodhunt will have Crossplay enabled, allowing players to participate in matches with players on any system. The PS5 version of the game offers the option of disabling Crossplay in the options, though doing so is likely to cause delays in finding matches and is thus not recommended.

PC does not have this option; the official explanation of crossplay on the website states that the ability to do so on PS5 is in order to comply with technical regulations and requirements.

Crossplay begins when entering a Bloodhunt match, with the Elysium hub area only featuring players on the same system as the user. This means that matches can be participated in by players on both PC and PS5, but interactions at Elysium are only between players on the same system.

It is also important to note that the game does not feature "cross-progression" as, while the same account can be used to sign in on both devices, progression, unlocks, and play statistics are exclusive to a specific platform. This means that Bloodhunt players must level up and unlock cosmetics separately on both PC and PS5 if they play both. Similarly, Trophy/Achievement unlocks are platform-specific.

Regarding balancing the game for crossplay, the developer has stated that it believes the improvements made to gamepad support should allow for a more even balance between control methods, though it will continue to make improvements and adjustments based on feedback and testing going forward.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt launches April 27 for PC and PS5.
